- Mike - 12-26-2006 do they not have other samsungs? that one does look like doodoo. - .RJ - 12-26-2006 I cant worry much about the looks at this point, I need a working telephone. If i could get better reception with a hot pink phone I'd do it. - Ginger - 12-26-2006 You'd do it, anyways. - .RJ - 12-26-2006 Maybe you should get an orange phone - Apoc - 12-26-2006 Evan Wrote:Cingular gets no better signal at my house /oakton area than Verizon or Sprint fwiw. I thought I disproved that this past summer with 2 bars. .RJ Wrote:I cant worry much about the looks at this point, I need a working telephone. Don't get a Sony Ericcson. I hated that piece of shit and I've heard a lot of complaints from others as well. Nokia and Motorola are where my money goes. - Evan - 12-26-2006 Apoc Wrote:"bars" dont mean much because they are relative. My 8525 gets 2 "bars" but conversations cut out. RJ was just here with his Samsung and he got 0-1 bar.Evan Wrote:Cingular gets no better signal at my house /oakton area than Verizon or Sprint fwiw. RJ the CU-400 is a bulky phone, Id try the CU-500. Its a little more $$ but a much better phone. The samsung slider would be my 2nd choice. - Apoc - 12-26-2006 Evan Wrote:Apoc Wrote:"bars" dont mean much because they are relative. Okay... well 2 bars is enough for solid conversation on a V557. - .RJ - 12-26-2006 Why dont we all just whip them out? Oh its so... wow... 5 bars! Edit: Good call on the CU-500, I missed that. Its an extra $30, but at the rate I spend liquidate my visa its no big deal - Apoc - 12-26-2006 I get 62 bars... thanks to a mod chip. - .RJ - 12-26-2006 No gamesharks allowed - ScottyB - 12-26-2006 i have an LG, its been great to me but it will not allow you to upload backgrounds/ringtones to your phone from your compy. you have to email them to the phone, which allows LG to nab you up for the internet access. but since i'm not that worried about that stuff it hasn't bothered me yet. - .RJ - 12-26-2006 Ringtones...... :?: - Feersty - 12-26-2006 .RJ Wrote:Feersty Wrote:Verizon family plan FTW. They quickly made good when they fucked up my billing one month. i'm in the same boat, but i'm getting more satisfied with Verizon phones. I like my phone and my service! Verizon FTW!

I had a basic LG and it was a great phone, christina is still using it, and it's almost 4yrs old. I have a Motorola E815 now, works great, has BT and I can surf the internet through it on my PDA w/ Verizon's VCast. Oh Sprint is the Biggest pile and the most joke of a wireless service in the DC area. My father in law has it and it he never has service! - Ginger - 12-27-2006 white_2kgt Wrote:Oh Sprint is the Biggest pile and the most joke of a wireless service in the DC area. My father in law has it and it he never has service! It's funny you should say that. RJ's Sprint service was terrible, which was why he switched out. I don't recall what my service was like before I bought a new phone (this is where everybody that went to Laguna berates me), but with my new phone I get better service than almost everybody I know. I get satisfactory conversations where I'm routinely told service isn't available at all. I don't know enough about cell service to say that the carrier signal is better on one network or another, or if the phone really plays that big of a part at all.. I just know that, for the most part, I'm very happy with the service I've been getting. *oops, I totally forogot to mention, I'm on the Sprint network with a Samsung A900 - Dragon - 12-27-2006 IMO the phone does play a big factor in it. I have two sprint phones and in the same spot in the same house my Katana gets much better service than my Sanyo. I personally love my sprint service, with the exception of my house I've had little to no pockets of no service. Heck I even would get service at RJ's house where his sprint phone didn't work. - .RJ - 12-27-2006 asteele2 Wrote:RJ's Sprint service was terrible... but with my new phone I get better service than almost everybody I know. If I have to spend $400 to get a phone that has decent service - there is something inherently wrong with the network, or the provider. No thanks. Fxck those guys with a big rusty prybar. |
