Talked to A&K yesterday....$300 to tint my freaking windows. I think I will take my chances and try to do it myself...anyone wanna help? They told me they would do it 50% on the two front sides and 35% on the 4 rear sides and the rear window. I'm thinking about letting them do the rear window only and doing the 4 side rears and the two fronts myself.

Anyone think I might just be better off buying the side windows at a junkyard? I forgot to ask the guy at hillside last time I was there...but they had a van with OEM tinted rears. All I would have to do then would be get the rear and side fronts done. I could actually swap decklids and then I would have a OEM tinted rear with a heating element...that would be nice.

OEM swap ftw

6 hours.

If I were to work out the gas to go that far...and a little something for my time... I might as well pay Tony to tint them. The local search will go on!

- Jeff - 11-27-2006

LOL! I got a PM from another guy with glass for me...he too...in Ohio.

You don't have $300? Just wait till you graduate then.

- HAULN-SS - 11-27-2006

You werent factoring in that OEM tint will look 100x better than any guy putting it on aftermarket

- .RJ - 11-27-2006

even if that tint is 20 years old?

- HAULN-SS - 11-27-2006

Probably.

Some tint shops are pretty good though.

Most tint shops provide a lifetime warranty or so I hear. But the OEM tint is built into the glass, it is IN the glass like the safety film. The van I saw at the yard looked like new to me!
