- BLINGMW - 07-31-2006 so tell me, when an incident is clearly one guy's fault, is he expected to pay up? Is it actually a formal thing at all, or just a "if you want to continue as an upstanding member of the racing community" thing, or is it not really expected at all? Goodspeed Wrote:Wow, just saw the video, that sucks....how did they let this guy race? Why didn't they pull him out after his first display of jackassery? I think NASA made the right call on this one, it's not like they could really prove he intended to hit Chad, he just messed up. And hits like that are somewhat common, usually it wouldn't end up in a rollover, but Chad was just extra lucky. :? It was a HUGE field, I'm sure plenty of people out there were a bit overwhelmed. But I think he proved himself quite clearly on Sunday. I guess he thought this whole thing was a NASCAR race. - Kaan - 07-31-2006 Chad can i claim the busted rear wheel please? i want to make a night stand for my room as far as i know, if you break someone elses car with yours... you arent held liable... though it might be nice if you try to help him out with the cost. I dont think this guys is going to do dick for Chad... since he went ape shit and lost it the next day... he's just a bitter man with too much money and not enough skill or common sense. - PDenbigh - 07-31-2006 Good, and sad, video man. I'm so glad how blatent the waving yellow flag is... - BLINGMW - 07-31-2006 PDenbigh Wrote:Good, and sad, video man. I'm so glad how blatent the waving yellow flag is... sounds like the whole field needs a flag retraining day, seeing how all the leaders blew through the reds as well... - white_2kgt - 07-31-2006 Kaan Wrote:Chad can i claim the busted rear wheel please? If you really want to make something out of the wheel, I'll give it to you. Yea, the guy was such an ass, showed it to me on Saturday and everyone else on Sunday I don't expect him to do dick for me. Which sucks that some popus ass can just come out there, end my season so quick and just walk away. I guess I always knew this could happen, but didn't want it to. - Kaan - 07-31-2006 yeah i want that shit... i just didnt know if you were going to try to pull something with Konig and say "um this wheel is defective" but i want your car number, the date of the "accident", and your signature on that wheel!
- Evan - 07-31-2006 Chad FWIW I think you handled the situation with amazing maturity and composure. I have run through the exact same situation in my head many times (getting wrecked by another jackass- one of the racers biggest fears) and I dont think I would be able to keep from introducing the dipshit'sface to my jack handle. Good luck getting the car back together and let me know if you need a hand with anything. - Evan - 07-31-2006 btw- if you stop the video at 3:12, you can see the FFR! - Kaan - 07-31-2006 I had to leave. When he came over running his fat ass mouth about losing brakes and shit. Chad you are WAY to nice a guy. Roll bar goes in my car asap
- Feersty - 07-31-2006 Really sorry about that Chad. Is your season over? - Maengelito - 07-31-2006 white_2kgt Wrote:If you really want to make something out of the wheel, I'll give it to you. no offense to kaan, but chad, i'd put that wheel up in the garage as a trophy next to your 3rd plaque. there's no better trophy than that busted wheel - mpg9999 - 07-31-2006 A report of the weekend from one of the factory five guys: http://www.ffcobra.com/ubb/ultimatebb.p ... 02103.html "Kaiser and Whiteside continued to pick off cars with Kaiser keeping in contact with the cars ahead, but the hard fighting meant that Johnson was pulling away. Whiteside ended up in an incident with a white mustang that resulted in the race being red flagged. After much hand-wringing on the part of the officials, they decided that the race was official and Johnson earned yet another win." and " Whiteside had a communications error with a grid worker and ended up with a DQ." Right, a "communications error".... - Chris - 07-31-2006 holy shit Chad! Glad you're ok, guess VIR isn't your friend :? Congrats on the little one on the way, 1st MM baby! - BLINGMW - 07-31-2006 mpg9999 Wrote:" Whiteside had a communications error with a grid worker and ended up with a DQ." holy crap, can we post on there? - CaptainHenreh - 07-31-2006 BLINGMW Wrote:mpg9999 Wrote:" Whiteside had a communications error with a grid worker and ended up with a DQ." For real. I've said it once, and I'll say it again: FFR's are dangerous and I don't like 'em. 75% of all the bad incidents I've seen working for NASA have involved an FFR/Cobra. - Sijray21 - 07-31-2006 CaptainHenreh Wrote:For real. seriously who remembers the T1 debacle at Summit Main last year where it was red flagged and 3 cobras were involved (one completely crumpled - bad enough for me not to know what kind of car it was). - Dragon - 07-31-2006 BLINGMW Wrote:You can, but I can't. Please do though.mpg9999 Wrote:" Whiteside had a communications error with a grid worker and ended up with a DQ." - Kaan - 07-31-2006 from the sig of the one guy that has replied to that post... "FFR #2055 - Okay. It's running well. Now I just need to learn to drive it." remind me to stay off track... away from any edges of the track... not to stand near the car when he has to go one the scales... bascially i need to run in terror from those cars... he should have a clue how to drive it... and not have to advertise it
- Maengelito - 07-31-2006 Sijray21 Wrote:CaptainHenreh Wrote:For real. i remember that. i saw one car towed back that looked like it came from the crusher in a junkyard. apparently it flew into the woods and the driver walked away virtually unscathed. this was also the only time i've ever seen a tow truck at the track tow a tree back into the paddock. - white_2kgt - 07-31-2006 Maengelito Wrote:Sijray21 Wrote:CaptainHenreh Wrote:For real. I told Christina what happened yesterday, and some more this morning, when I told her what kind of car this is what she remember, she was like, one of those that they had to pull out of the tree at Summit point? I said yea, that's the one, all she remembers about them is someone always bust one or several up. I just got caught in the middle this time. |
