so tell me, when an incident is clearly one guy's fault, is he expected to pay up? Is it actually a formal thing at all, or just a "if you want to continue as an upstanding member of the racing community" thing, or is it not really expected at all?

I think NASA made the right call on this one, it's not like they could really prove he intended to hit Chad, he just messed up. And hits like that are somewhat common, usually it wouldn't end up in a rollover, but Chad was just extra lucky. :? It was a HUGE field, I'm sure plenty of people out there were a bit overwhelmed. But I think he proved himself quite clearly on Sunday. I guess he thought this whole thing was a NASCAR race.

Chad can i claim the busted rear wheel please?
i want to make a night stand for my room as far as i know, if you break someone elses car with yours... you arent held liable... though it might be nice if you try to help him out with the cost. I dont think this guys is going to do dick for Chad... since he went ape shit and lost it the next day... he's just a bitter man with too much money and not enough skill or common sense.

Yea, the guy was such an ass, showed it to me on Saturday and everyone else on Sunday I don't expect him to do dick for me. Which sucks that some popus ass can just come out there, end my season so quick and just walk away. I guess I always knew this could happen, but didn't want it to.

Chad FWIW I think you handled the situation with amazing maturity and composure.
I have run through the exact same situation in my head many times (getting wrecked by another jackass- one of the racers biggest fears) and I dont think I would be able to keep from introducing the dipshit'sface to my jack handle.
Good luck getting the car back together and let me know if you need a hand with anything.

I've said it once, and I'll say it again: FFR's are dangerous and I don't like 'em. 75% of all the bad incidents I've seen working for NASA have involved an FFR/Cobra.

who remembers the T1 debacle at Summit Main last year where it was red flagged and 3 cobras were involved (one completely crumpled - bad enough for me not to know what kind of car it was).

i remember that. i saw one car towed back that looked like it came from the crusher in a junkyard. apparently it flew into the woods and the driver walked away virtually unscathed. this was also the only time i've ever seen a tow truck at the track tow a tree back into the paddock.

I told Christina what happened yesterday, and some more this morning, when I told her what kind of car this is what she remember, she was like, one of those that they had to pull out of the tree at Summit point? I said yea, that's the one, all she remembers about them is someone always bust one or several up. I just got caught in the middle this time.
