i considered a boat too... then i thought back to how expensive it was for my ex's family to upkeep and run theirs... luckily, the new girlie has family with mucho boats Smile

my friend dave is thinking of getting one. he's what i like to call a "douche." he doesn't understand the true cost of a boat and truck/trailer. yes, the same guy who leases a saab, is whiter than white, has a barcode tattoo on his wrist (visible when his pink shirt slips up) and wanted to get a harley.

- Dragon - 07-28-2006

My dad taught me something very important about boats.

"Son, never buy a boat, just find friends that are dumb enough to buy them."

That being said, RJ, you gonna buy a boat? Afterall you are the king of stupid ideas.

At least I am not a label whore Tongue

zing!

Dragon Wrote:Everyone swore up and down that I was a complete idiot for starting off with my R6, but I've had 0 problems with it, and I think I'm coming along quite nicely.

I didnt think you were dumb for buying the R6, just for buying a bike in general Wink Although, that goes for all the rest of us too....

Dragon Wrote:That being said, RJ, you gonna buy a boat? Afterall you are the king of stupid ideas.

I've gotta draw the line on stupid ideas somewhere Tongue I said it before, and I'll say it again. Boats are for fags. I just dont like them... I dont see the point. Tons of hassle and $$ for what, you use it a few times a year?

I guess they are cool if someone else owns one, but i'd rather go 150mph on a racetrack somewhere - besides, you cant drown if you crash your bike going into Turn 1.

- Apoc - 07-28-2006

Not everyone wants to race every vehicle they own. Believe it or not some people do buy certain items for leisure, not going 150mph.

We spent nearly every weekend at Lake Anna when I was growing up spending time on my parents ski boat and family friends' lake house. I don't think it cost that much to maintain since my dad did most of the work himself and I'm pretty sure he pulled that bitch with a Continental. My dad has a bass boat now that he's retired and I'm pretty sure he spends at least 2 days a week on that thing when the weather's right.

I can honestly say boating was some of the best memories from my childhood. I will definitely own when I'm more financially secure than I am now. I obviously don't need it to pick up chicks but it's a great way to spend time with family and friends. Some of you should consider a boat 'cause whatever you're doin now ain't gettin' you laid.

You know if you move to Cali you can use a boat just as often as you use the bike.

DAGGER!

- G.Irish - 07-28-2006

Eh boats are nice and all but you're not going to get the kind of boat that is really going to pull women for $5-10k.

And even if you had a nice boat what are you gonna do, boulevard pimp down the beach 20 yards offshore at 2 mph? Are you gonna drop a line at a bar like, "Hey, I have a 30 ft boat in the marina, wanna come see it?" You'll look like a total loser for doing so (especially if you wreck your boat 20 yards offshore).

Really, having a boat or bike is not going to get you any action unless you have the game to match. And if you have the game you don't need a bike or boat in the first place. Bottom line is you buy a bike or boat because it makes you happy, whether girls come or not. And by that measure, bikes are much better bangs for the buck.

- Apoc - 07-28-2006

Yeah but if you got game you can bang five chicks on a boat.

You can only bang one, maybe two, on a bike.

8)

look what you started Sameer! Confusedhock:

does anyone here actually willing to buy this bike? Tongue

Or you could just say "hey we should go down and hang out on my boat one of these weekends."

The 'could pick up chicks better with a boat' comment was just a joke. Of course people shouldn't expect to use that as their go-to for picking up birds.

you said birds... that is funny. g, i think you're overthinking this... bottom line is that getting girls out on your boat is an easy thing to do, but it is up to you to seal the deal.

There's a bike for sale?

Its easy to get girls to come to a party too, and you could spend a lot less money on that. Getting a woman to come on your boat actually takes a bit more trust (since she can't just walk out the door), unless of course you're having a party on your boat.

Now if you're having a party with snakes on a boat...

- Ginger - 07-28-2006

I've had it with these snakes!

Chris, is Dad going to store, trailer, and wrench on your boat for you? Just gotta show up at the trac... erm, water?

it is more difficult to seal a deal at a party than on a boat.

- Ginger - 07-28-2006

We should throw an MM boat party.

i thought the consensus was that boats suck....? i'm soo confused, thanks MM.

my stance on the boat: if you can afford one as a luxury, get one. It doesn't hurt in the pursuit of tail. If you're dumb enough to buy a boat without considering all the costs then may i hope to be your salesman someday. everyone happy?

But a one night drunk stint would be cool on one.

- ScottyB - 07-28-2006

see the way i look at it, it's a draw.

on a bike, you run around in a leather suit looking like a power ranger and most likely sweating like hell. as said before, you can't really bring the rucus to a chick when you're on a bike, and if she falls off, well....ew. BUT bikes are cheaper, sound cooler, don't smell like chum and chicks dig big vibrational things between their legs. plus she has to hug you to hold on.

on a boat, as G made painfully clear, you can't really pimp your manliness as easily, unless you know of a place where a bunch of babes hang out on wharfs all night. boats are slow, expensive, not quite as exciting and you'd probably sound weird asking her to come check out your mad tite schooner. BUT boats have ample shagging room, the sound of the sea, lots of excuses to wear little to no clothing and if you fall off, everyone laughs and doesn't ask where your skin went.

oh and one time in south carolina i saw a Bass Tracker boat that had the B painted out. that was pretty cool.

- Dragon - 07-28-2006

Actually not that hard to pimp your manliness on a boat in the areas I used to go boating. You pull up to the "flats" and anchor right there, crack open a beer and the women come right to you if you're pimptacular and got a nice boat.
