Take away the aero and electronic gizmos and bring back real tires and let them RACE

I agree, and thats what the new rules are trying to do.

I think the control tire will make the racing closer but the homologated engines certainly will not. If anything it'll just intensify the aerodynamics war.

The spec ECU by Microsoft could very well turn out to be a disaster but if they could take away traction/stability control then I'd be all for it.

Ultimately I know Max thinks he's reducing costs but making huge rule changes every year is achieving the exact opposite. The engine homologation thing is probably the dumbest thing he's thought of yet. Luckily I don't think it will drive away Honda, Toyota, or BMW though because none of them have gotten a championship from all the money they've invested. If any of them had, they might have said "peace" and gone to Le Mans instead.

Danica is on her way to the redneck round-e-rounds too it seems.

You can never reduce costs in racing. A team will spend as much as they want.
Strict rules decrease the advantage that more money brings you.

i'm anxious to see how this pans out. montoya's temper is always fun to watch when it flares up.

and even if the fans hate him, no series is complete without the protagonist

Absolutely. I'm just saying that the rules changes that have come every year for the last few years have done nothing to decrease cost or even restrict the performance reward for spending more money that teams have been getting.

We should put in bets for who JPM will get in a fight with first.

- .RJ - 07-11-2006

That one's easy - Tony Stewart

The better bet is who his 2nd fight will be with.

- Maengelito - 07-11-2006

kyle busch or robby gordon

No more JPM in F1 Sad
I wonder if F1 realizes they lost a big reason to watch F1?
i heard this today! holy shit.

but it's a good chance for the test driver they have to show what he's got in the circuit.

and Montoya may run races this season?!?
