I have to agree with you Evan, although I still like the challenge. I just wouldn't go expecting to win. But yeah, even if they aren't TECHNICALLY cheating, these guys dredge up parts for almost no $$, and with crazy fabrication skills and access to paint booths, real shops, and so on, make a car that shouldn't exist for so little $. Even over the few years of the event, the quality of car possible has gone WAY up. Which is the idea I guess, and fun to watch, but yeah, a little suspect sometimes....

yeah, i just think it would be a lot of fun. I don't really intend on winning. A 240hp 2400lb car is not going to run a 10 second quarter mile. However, I think the car could be competitive and if nothing else would be good to put on the MM resume and some good publicity. Most of all, I think we would have a good time and enjoy it, otherwise I wouldn't consider it.

exactly, I think we should treat it as more of an experience thing... I think it woul dbe well worth it.

Here is some new info about the challenge, but more details won't be up until July.

you can only make back 1/2 of the total cost of the challenge. so it its the 2002 you can only sell $1001 in parts and put that money towards the car. They did this b/c so many people were selling crap on ebay and coming out w/ a $6-10k car.
