Julie will probably be pissed at me but you can bolt a h22a head on it with a few modifcations.

i'm assuming you took off the instake resonator already?

Saw the beast today, parked at sheetz when I went in to work. Good work Rex, car looks great!

I haven't done anything with the intake.

I was kind of kicking around the idea of an Ebay pipe and K&N cone to replace the entire box.

i miss the v-attack light

Rex - install a v-attack light (if no v-attack, just install a light that says "vtec" and have it come on after 3500 rpms! Big Grin

ooooh oooh! you need to do that right away! it is the tube coming out of the airbox and in to the fender-well. you'll need to pull away the fender liner to yank out the milk carton sized box.

- Andy - 04-03-2006

If you get a cold air intake, I have an unused AEM bypass valve for sale.

- ScottyB - 04-03-2006

seriously Rex....on my accord, the resonator was the size of a freaking fish tank. i took it out, and it was a very deep growl from 2k to 4.5k.

and then i put on the CAI....whoa. sounded like it had way more horsies than it did. beefy!

what an F23 with an intake sounds like *plus SOHC V-aTAK for added pleasure!*

When the PT shed it's airbox for a K&N cone it was a much needed improvement. We didn't tell sylvia we did it and as she and I were driving along that night she says "It sounds different...more manly."

Well, this car's mine now. It started life as mine, I sold it to Rex, missed it, and bought it back :-D

.. and it's never skipped a beat.

I threw a CEL over the first really big snow day NOVA had, though. I pulled the code (this is the first CEL in 180,000 miles that this car has ever had).

EVIL LIGHT!

The code was o2 sensor - great. On an hunch I checked the wiring to the sensor [background: the car has an aftermarket header that moved the o2 sensor farther back than OEM and required a pigtail to lengthen the wiring.. it was always a bit too exposed].

See?

And I was greeted with this:

Yep, that would be the problem. I took the picture after I stripped the wires to solder them back together... so no, nobody was playing a joke on me.

I kinda forgot to take pictures of the soldering.. but I think everybody knows what that's like.

All buttoned up and tied away better than before:

I've got all the front end joints and a steering rack to install next.. oh, and this thing that Rex gave me when I got the car back called universal specific mount or some shit.. he thinks it's cool, it looks like it'll hold my iPod pretty well, so in it'll go.

More in the future - no guess on a timeframe, though... two wheel toys are more fun.

*edit* pic links died, removed.

The ever faithful Accord is gone.

*single perfect tear*

- ScottyB - 03-29-2008

so what exactly happened to it? engine just had enough?

Cry another accord fan pouring one out...

- CaptainHenreh - 03-31-2008

I know you didn't just let someone tow it away...

- Ginger - 03-31-2008

Long story short - it was just one busted mess.

I stopped driving it in late December because it just scared me too much. The steering rack had several inches of play in it, and a lot of the ball joints were suffering from accelerated wear becuase of the rack. It was... an experience to drive. When the forecast started to include snow, I noticed that two of the tires were flat. It just wasn't worth it to fix. In addition to all that stuff, the radio didn't work any more.

I parked it at my mum's place on January 4th, and it was just sitting ever since. I've been tired of looking at it, and I knew I wouldn't get much if I sold it, so I called one of those "we'll buy your junk car for $125" places and told them to come get it. Now that it's gone, it's one less thing to worry about.
