Hmm then Ill even refer to another car, mk3 supra, spec clutches(lower stages) uses stock pressure plate yet can hold a lot more power, hmm I guess Spec, SBR, and all them are all wrong. Behold RJ, you should make clutches. - .RJ - 02-10-2006 D_Eclipse9916 Wrote:Hmm then Ill even refer to another car, mk3 supra, spec clutches(lower stages) uses stock pressure plate yet can hold a lot more power, hmm I guess Spec, SBR, and all them are all wrong. Behold RJ, you should make clutches. :?: You completely missed the point...... You said the clutch puts less load on the main bearings. Its because there is less clamping force on the pressure plate - which has nothing to do with the torque holding capability of the unit, which can be increased by other ways (friction disc material/construction, multiplate clutches, etc). - Jeff - 02-10-2006 what the hell does a dual plate clutch do? - .RJ - 02-10-2006 TurboOmni08 Wrote:what the hell does a dual plate clutch do? You cant increase the amount of torque holding capacity whithout increasing pedal effort or thrust bearing/throwout bearing wear. More plates = more friction = more torque holding. The downside? Expensive to make, and potentially hard to package. |
