Dooooooorrrifftoooooooooooooo

Well that thing is a bit of a handful..... going down a clear but wet section of road, hit a snow/ice patch and was instantly sideways, pointed at the curbing at about 40mph. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Does HPDE knowledge help you to handle incidents like this in a way to avoid an accident? Do they teach inclement weather racing?

Sure. A sliding car doesnt bother me, and I know how to control it with the throttle, steering, weight transfer, etc. The Bondurant accident avoidance/defensive driving class is probably better for winter driving skills, but HPDE stuff, especially the skidpad is good as well.

Going into work this morning was basically a 25 mile 4-wheel drift 8) Jess should've been giving the double-Ms to all the people in the ditches...

HOLY SHIT LOTS OF SNOW!

- Jeff - 12-09-2005

I left my car behind the dorm tonight for fear of the show... I was sliding around like poo out there earlier. E-break slides were fun. Anyone think I will get a ticket tomorrow? and if I do will I be able to apeal it?

- Myuki - 12-09-2005

the 15 minute trip home from VCU that night took 50. I was suprised t how fast some of the roads got cleared, but most were hell. Fun drive at some points though.

You can take my video of the cops drifting in the snow and present it to the court, thats how some of my friends get off.

Snow + MR2 = work from home  yaaaay

I love snow days... I made record time getting into work this morning! Smile

Last April I was out at Mid-Ohio and got caught in a freak snowstorm. I was on treadless R-compounds in my 350Z, and decided to try and get home. Note that the 350Z is a nightmare in the snow with anything less than full tread M/S or A/S.

As I was driving, people in all sorts of cars were sliding off the interstate, but as long as I had enough forward momentum, I would just keep on countersteering and the car kept on plowing in the direction I wanted it to. I managed to get about 12 miles through 3" of snow and ice before the car would go no more.

- Mike - 12-09-2005

i had no idea the S would be nearly as worthless as it is in this shit... dman me for not picking up the civic, but i suppose all is good cause i'm "working" from home.

- Sijray21 - 12-09-2005

how much did JMU get?

we got about 4 inches here plus rain/sleet for a slushy morning commute

- HAULN-SS - 12-09-2005

Maybe 2 -3 inches of heavy heavy snow/ice

Barometric pressure falling rapidly..ready for another round?

No. In fact, I'm already completely sick of this shit. After I get back from my Christmas ski trip, I'd be totally content to jump right back to June.

i'm ready, i want everything to be under all sorts of snow...so much that eventually the only way of transportation will be by snowmobile Big Grin

<--- eagerly anticipating my Ski Trip to Killington, VT for the first week in Jan. !
