RJ has experience with using bacardi 151 and lighting the match - use that - .RJ - 11-15-2005 veeetoooooooooooo - Evan - 11-15-2005 i hope your shildren haf birf defekssss - .RJ - 11-15-2005 30 lbs of dry ice, lots of cursing, and 2 beers later we end up with this: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The stuff on the exhaust tunnel was real stubborn, no matter how beligerant I got with it or how much dry ice i stacked on it, just would not come off. So thats getting the heat gun tomorrow. I also picked up some 3M adhesive remover to get the residue out and scrub down the whole floorpan with. - Mike - 11-15-2005 you're so f'ing rice i love it. "3m adhesive remover so my neon green paint job looks good." - .RJ - 11-15-2005 :?: - PDenbigh - 11-15-2005 Where did you get the DI? Care to share how much it cost? Was it as effective as you had hoped? - .RJ - 11-15-2005 http://www.dryiceinfo.com/where.htm ![]() It was $40 for 30 lbs of the stuff - I wish i'd bought more, but i did ok with it. It worked, really well but it still needed some elbow grease and about an hour of pounding and chiseling the stuff up, some came real easy, some didnt. Ideally you'd do this on a really cold day, with dry ice and an air chisel. The adhesive remover stuff works really well but its really, really nasty shit. Wear long sleeves, gloves, long pants and do this outside. It didnt get all the residue off, but I got the big chunks with a wire wheel and all the little spots and specs i'm not going to worry about, since its not a show car and its being painted as soon as the cage goes in. ![]()

Haven't been in there lately, but they *did* have it. - PDenbigh - 11-16-2005 CaptainHenreh Wrote:PDenbigh Wrote:Where did you get the DI? Care to share how much it cost? Cool, thanks! - .RJ - 11-16-2005 Well, I'm done  I used a wire wheel-o-death on my angle grinder to get the clumps of seam sealer and the hard to get residue off. Then I finished up with Acetone to clean up the floor and get the last of the gunk off. Also, the stuff on the exhaust tunnel came right off with heat gun use. It looks pretty good for a racecar, I'd say its ready for paint - but need to get the cage finished first.
- Mike - 11-17-2005 well done  - Feersty - 11-17-2005 Bling on. - ScottyB - 11-17-2005 so fresh, so clean bow chicka wow wow - .RJ - 11-17-2005 Thanks fellas. Not too bad for 2 evenings work
- PDenbigh - 11-17-2005 Any idea of weight savings? - JohnC - 11-17-2005 PDenbigh Wrote:Any idea of weight savings? Yeah RJ - working with all of those harsh chemicals, you probably lost a lot of skin (not to mention the vomiting and diarrhea that come naturally with racing an Integra). Pete, I'd say he's down to a svelte 200lbs 8) - white_2kgt - 11-17-2005 PDenbigh Wrote:Any idea of weight savings? in a mustang it is about 8lbs (but that's not why we do it )
