i'd put a vote in for gearing also. IIRC Bertone made an aftermarket gearset for the countach's that did amazing things for low speed acceleration. in stock form they are not geared as sprinters.

john, awesome info... thanks for clearing it up. i mean... i was doing the numbers in my head and something just didn't add up! traction + power + not retarded weight = pretty quick. absolutely dumb gearing you say? neat.
