ScottyB Wrote:- A8 brake upgrade. cheap, and will be great for auto-x and HPDE when i start that next summer.
- 10mm spacers for the stock wheels to clear the A8 brakes
- boost gauge. kind of a no-brainer
- pedal set, or at least a throttle pedal. i can't heel/toe well with the stock peice
- Tyrolsport SMIC. if i plan on running any motorsports event with consistancy i need to upgrade from the stock peice ASAP.
- helmet!

Focus on the fun upgrades and pretend the repairs never happened. I find it keeps you from hating yourself for dumping so much money into your car. Get a helmet now while the SA00's are still around at closeout prices.

In regards to snow tires, I've been thinking about it but its hard enough to justify all the crap I have in my mom's garage. If I get snow tires, I'll have 12 wheels/tires for one car. Not to mention the engine/trans set that I will be tooling with over the winter.

OG Racing is having a sidewalk sale (indoors) on saturday, you might want to get there early and pick one up.

oh, no worries there man....i don't mind dumping money into the car. it's not an investment, it's a hobby. as long as i don't get totally ripped off i'm cool with throwing in some dough to get the car where i want it.

good call on the helmet. i'm going to start looking within the next month as an early x-mas present to myself

i didn't know you had that many sets of wheels! maybe you could mount the snows on a set of beat up wheels you have laying around?

red 240: sell sell sell

black 240: sell sell sell

talon: rear sway bar, brakes, fabricate oil cooler, put on big diet and prep for VIR in Feb

supra: clean up and make it look good, continue hoarding parts for engine swap, possibly start/complete engine swap? HAH! yeah right.

Break in rebuilt motor. Buy 1,000cc injectors. New brakes, rotors, brake lines. New tires. Tune car. Try not to blow shit up.

Rollcage, seats, harness, window nets
Fix Header and attempt to make it a final fix
80mm MAF upgrade
Brake Prop Valve
Burn up my Fuzions so I can get some RA-1's
And basically get the car as close as I can to comp ready.

Del Sol:

basic maintenance as it will be my DD.

Project Miata:

buy one (91-93)!
roll bar
seats
harnesses
brakes
whatever else I can afford (just got a job!!! so we'll see how things go Big Grin )

- John - 10-21-2005

350Z:
replace front bumper
replace rotors
replace front pads
replace left 02 sensor
pick up a set of adjustable front UCAs
pick up a fresh set of RA1s
wash it

WRX:
take off exhaust and sell
return car to dealer

Looking at picking up a Miata this winter to be my DD for several months next year until I move overseas...

-Replace inner TREs
-Better brake pads front and rear (How will Hawk HPS pads hold up in HPDE1? Thats the most agressive set I can get unless I do a big brake kit.)
-Polish spare intake and install
-Hard button EATC

According to their website, they only offer Bobcat pads, and those are only for the 94+ SHOs (which have bigger brakes.) SHONut Performance (which has the best selection of SHO performance parts I have seen) offers Bobcats (which I think are now discontinued as well) for my car but nothing better....

Carbotech 89-93 Front Bobcat (street pad) CT-421A-BOB 89.10
Carbotech 94-95 Front Bobcat (street pad) CT-601-BOB 98.10
Carbotech 94-95 Front Panther (race pad) (clearance) CT-601-P 58.00

Guess a call won't hurt, but I doubt they offer anything.

- Andy - 10-21-2005

I believe they can make custom pads.

- Evan - 10-21-2005

yes they can. Worst case scenario is that you send them an old set of pads so they can laser cut a custom set of backing plates

- NTIman - 10-21-2005

-Aquire new tools,such as micrometers,bore gauges,degree wheel,etc.
-set out on building the engine for my dads 65 mustang
-Whatever i want after that.

- LorenaBeana - 10-22-2005

Hopefully get a helmet for Christmas
Maybe new tires at least in time for VIR
Perhaps some form of intake....getting beat by a 1.8T is really a blow to the ego.
HPDE1 in February at VIR

(my real plan is to pass my classes and graduate in 2 years so that I can actually have money to do something exciting with the car)

I'd recommend to all of ya'll to go see the Detroit auto show as well...the stuff they show there can be seen at the DC auto show 2 years after. Awesome awesome show.

- Andy - 10-22-2005

For those that want to buy a helmet, might be a good idea to buy one now while the sa00's are still around.
