Code of Virginia regarding Window Tinting, Stickers, Etc.

- Myuki - 09-24-2005

i've read that before. isn't it all judgemental on the cop's part unless he has a measuring device on-hand? kinda like the dreaded muffler noise issue.

Yeah.. but that's why tint measuring devices and judges are around.

Quote:Law-enforcement officers shall use only such equipment or devices to measure light transmittance through windows that meet the standards established by the Division. Such measurements made by law-enforcement officers shall be given a tolerance of minus seven percentage points.

so, he has to use a device to give a ticket. right?

- Mike - 09-26-2005

well he obviously already gave the ticket so now it is on you to prove you're in the right.

- Myuki - 09-26-2005

he said i'll give you a warning. and i'm looking on how this would get done. Personally, i feel safer with it tinted like that, dunno why. I just don't want to get screwed by some dick cop who thinks he's all high and mighty and I'm some punk kid.

- Mike - 09-26-2005

oh so you didn't get a ticket? cool. i'd go to a tint shop, have your shit measured, and carry that paperwork in your glovebox.

Don't mean to thread jack but, are there any good places to get window tinting around Hburg or should I just wait and get it done back in Richmond?

Yes there is, there's an audio and tint shop out main street just after taco bell/burger king/MacDonalds. There's a sign for it just before that ugly-ass red and yellow "car title loan" joint.

Happen to know of any pricing from that place? Looking for darkest legal tint on the four side windows and then the rear.

- JustinG - 09-26-2005

No way in hell your getting in that place, i went to check the place out......my car isnt even dropped, but the 90 degree angle getting into that place will kill anyones bumper. I looked at it, tried, and the driveway is to narrow to take at an angle, Cry

- Nis01 - 09-26-2005

LoL.. Nice business strategy... Can you tint my windows, oh and while you are at it... can you put my bumper back on too?

50% on front driver and passenger

haha not lately, just use things I've learned on the track in everyday driving and it sucks when I can't see through a car.
