- Ryan T - 08-18-2005 You didn't say anything about salvage or theft titles, you merely stated that "you can't get an S2000 for 13-15!!!!!!!!" and I provided evidence to the contrary.

Nor can you find one with a 5 year, 100,000 mile powertrain warranty for 10 grand. Furthermore, Julie didn't want an SVT, and I stand behind her on that decision. Turbocharged Zetec Foci make more power more reliably than SVT's do. Plus, any SVT Focus for 10 grand is going to have the shit pounded out of it. #2, John, looks like a really complete turbo kit, but sadly we have the Duratec 2.0, not the Zetec. The Duratec has a coil-on-plug ignition, but the engine is "backwards" having the exhaust exit firewall side, unlike the Zetec, which is more conventional. Once the warranty is gone, however, we'll see what can be done. #3, Julie's Cavalier had 130,000 hard miles on it, and while it ran strong, the trans was starting to slip, the wheel bearing was going to bomb any day now, and the alternator had just gone out. (Yes, I know that means it just had a new alt) It was a good car, but it's time had passed. Plus, it was an Auto, and the Focus is a straight. ![]() Funny story, we went to trade in the Cav (and got a pittance for it, but it wasn't my car) and it had a CD changer in the trunk. And julie was all like "So what?" And I said, "So what?!? SO they're just gonna wholesale the stupid thing, I'm gonna take it!" So me and Julie's Brother (NTIMan, honestly it was mostly him) took apart most of the interior while we were in talking with Finance. :-p - G.Irish - 08-18-2005 Shit man if there were 100k mile St00ks around back in 2001 I would have bought one of those instead of the GS-R hock:

I'm sure you will both enjoy it and financially it sounds like a really good idea. Now, it is time to divulge your next devious plot since you've acquired something reliable. - CaptainHenreh - 08-22-2005 Well, having driven the car nearly half of it's nearly 1000 miles, I can honestly say I like it. The engine has a nice sound to it, and since the 2.0 is just a destroked 2.3 (bore is the same) I think that all of the go-fast bits for the 2.3 would work for the 2.0, but with higher compression it should respond to bolt ons better. Cosworth makes alot of cool parts for the Duratec, so we might buy some of them as the warranty's expiration draws nigh. But it's a very nice car and I like it alot. - JackoliciousLegs - 08-22-2005 CaptainHenreh Wrote:it should respond to bolt ons betterPlease... God no... - .RJ - 08-22-2005 JackoliciousLegs Wrote:Please... God no... What? Bolt ons bad for the environment? - BLINGMW - 08-22-2005 .RJ Wrote:What? Bolt ons bad for the environment? - CaptainHenreh - 08-22-2005 Really, Jack. I mean, it's Julie's car, so it's up to her. But the stock exhaust manifold is basically four holes and a catalytic coverter, there are big gains to be had in chip tuning and a nice IHE setup. I think 180 horses could be found with IHE, tuning, and cams. - .RJ - 08-22-2005 Where's the m'fing b00st? - CaptainHenreh - 08-22-2005 .RJ Wrote:Where's the m'fing b00st? As soon as someone decides to develop a kit for the Duratec, I'll look into it. Right now, I'm looking at stuff I might have a chance of slipping in under the Ford Warranty Radar. Boost voids warranties. - Sijray21 - 08-22-2005 .RJ Wrote:Where's the m'fing b00st? ...mmm....RS4.... - .RJ - 08-22-2005 theguywiththeSi Wrote:...mmm....RS4.... :?: - JackoliciousLegs - 08-22-2005 .RJ Wrote:lol..JackoliciousLegs Wrote:Please...
