In my mind, the tech forum is for covering techniques, working out problems, etc. This forum would be more for having a thread evaluating a particular item with actual experience. Therefore, if somebody was trying to figure out what kind of brake pad to get, they could look up each thread and see what everybody thinks, as opposed to starting yet another thread and seeing what everybody recommends. I think the most important thing would be that the thread title would have to be the item and discussion would be left inside. Besides, 75% of the club agrees that its a good idea! :-D

I think that the Articles section would be a better place for product reviews.
If you tried a product, do a write up, post it in Articles, people comment agreeing or disagreeing. Forums get off topic too quickly for useful reviews.
