sounds like you guys built some character!

sorry, i hate it when people say that to me, so i had to say it. at least you didn't sit outside in an apartment parking lot for 2 days trying to compress a spring :?

Mike Wrote:i'm stalling all over the place, i've gotta adjust that thing. new flywheel has to be half the weight of the old one. revs more quikcly in neutral and it seems to drop revs much faster between shifts too.

you just have to get used to it, i have an exedy organic and the engagement point is relatively low and a LOT lower than the stock clutch. Works wonders though, 40k+ miles on it, a fair amount of hard driving and it's still grabbing hard.

now it's time to get used to the setup

Well mike's clutch didnt blow up today Wink

- Evan - 06-11-2005

arent you supposed to break-in a clutch?

- Dave - 06-11-2005

yeah, but this is mike

- Jeff - 06-12-2005

yeah...pull it out in the middle of the road and dumb it Smile. How much did all this cost mike? Mine is looking to be about $289 for the Fidanza f/w and $168 for the clutch kit (thats the el-cheapo performance clutch). I tryin to decide it the light f/w will make that much of a difference...my bet is not.

- Mike - 06-12-2005

i think together it was like 400ish, but i bought it a long time ago. exedy organic w/ lightweight flywheel.

as far as break-in goes, i'd think stop and go traffic is harder on it than the track.

WHOA there pardner. Lets clear up any confusion here.
That would be RJs arm fully extended, not mine.
Mike rolled RJ. While driving my car. (and of course Mikey on R-tires, 300 lbs lighter, 20 more hp and with JDM coilovers vs. a stock miata on street tires is nothing to brag about)

Might I add that I rolled mikeys car (with RJ piloting) on saturday Tongue

- .RJ - 06-12-2005

So what we're trying to say here is that RJ sucks Wink

hahah, no Im just happy you didnt money shift my car

- .RJ - 06-12-2005

You have no idea how hard it was to resist the temptation just to put that slug out of its misery.

1:54 with a passenger and a full fuel load in 'not my car' isnt so bad Wink

RJ - now motivated to get his car ready for hyperfizzzz Wink

I was talking about saturday last session, when I had christina in the car with me screeming at me to go faster b/c I was boring her following you, haha.

- Mike - 06-13-2005

rj got rolled hard.

you pulled a 1:54? i guess that puts me around 1:50ish? hrmph, little slower than i'd like.

- .RJ - 06-13-2005

You werent 4 seconds a lap faster Wink

- Mike - 06-13-2005

I wouldn't say far from it. You only caught me the 2nd time because I hit traffic. I don't remember how much I pulled on you in a single lap.

- .RJ - 06-13-2005

About 2 seconds/lap
