- .RJ - 03-28-2005 b00sted M3 > SC300
- Dave - 03-28-2005 my .02 sc300 is dirt cheap for a decent looking one, parts are really easy to get ahold of (supra guys dump parts for cheap constantly, and everything is interchangeable for the SC), and they are wicked. I personally was also thinking about getting one at one point just to have essentially another supra for some fun. your GTI is hot. I don't even like VWs and I think it is hot. Once teh b00st is installed on it, it will be even cooler. I understand the effect of RWD, but the dub would be a special case IMO. AE86 is eh, well, yeah. Hideous, light, overpriced, fun to drive are all adjectives that come to mind. Any idea how much yours would fetch? Personally, I would sell the 86, and you could probably get almost enough money to get the SC with it. That would leave you with one sik ride to tool around in, dump off another car that is almost as old as the members of this club, and potential to own your dream car almost immediately. As for modding an SC, you could probably acquire the suspension from a TT supra for under $100, and it would be a considerable upgrade from the SCs stock suspension. You can probably shave weight easily from that car, and upgrading the brakes would be available either by TT brakes or super expensive kits, all requiring bigger wheels. Better pads on the stockers would probably be the better choice. Otherwise, simply saving up for the 2J swap (I'd say 2J simply b/c of the increased torque from the extra .5L and the increasing rarity of the 1J) would be the only other goal. - BLAIR - 03-28-2005 wouldnt sell just one.... cause id want the money from both cars to buy and mod the SC right away. the gti could fetch 12k I hope.. i have that in damn mods alone. the gts could get 4k pretty easy too. so 16k can get you a sc and plenty to mod with. wouldnt sell just one and get an SC because i wouldnt even want to drive it stock.. nicely modded sc's are rare thats one of the reasons im attracted to them. also the GTS has totally made me love toyota with their reliablilty, etc etc. my GTS has 200k and i spend all day bouncing that bitch off the rev limiter and the car hasnt given me a single problem in 4 months and 5k miles. so it either sell both and get an SC or keep both - ScottyB - 03-28-2005 .RJ Wrote:b00sted M3 > SC300 b00m < b00st - Maengelito - 03-28-2005 personally i would keep your two cars and focus on graduating and drifting in the 86. i think once you get your d0r1ft0 skills up and dont have to worry about school, then upgrade to the luxor1ft0 car. - BLAIR - 03-28-2005 thanks everyone for your input - JackoliciousLegs - 03-29-2005 enjoy your GTI. That is an amazing car. Great inside and out. Do not get rid of a reliable, hot car. You'll regret it. - Krush - 04-03-2005 drifting????????? WTF mate... OT: I thinking bout possibly aquiring a sc400 (i like v-8 more). There is one up here in jersey with lots of miles and I'm gonna offer the guy 3k www.hurthing.com/sc400 - christo - 04-04-2005 sc400's only come with a slushbox auto though. And who needs to pay more for gas nowadays? I'll take the 86, btw. |
