I have a slight delimna for you guys to possibly help me with.

I may have trouble getting the NASA truck with all the gear from my house (have to pick it up before Sat. afternoon from Cobettos) along with getting my car to the autox. My brother said he will drive my car, but if there was anyone either coming to my house Sat night (Thayer) or in the Richmond area that is either NOT driving in the autox and just spectating, or bringing a friend along to spectate- then maybe you could come to my house and assist in driving my car to the autox while I drive the big ass truck.

If not, my bro should be able to, just checking the possibilities. thanks.

Assuming I can locate and remedy the tiny little oil leak I seem to be having, I'm still in. Thats what I'm gonna be doing today while we fry a turkey in peanut oil Smile

btw.....its snowing hardcore at my house.

snow!?!? wow and you're more south than any of us.

Just let me know if you're still coming up here Sat. night Thayer- I left you a voicemail the other day.

got the NASA truck today, all the cones, and equipment. I checked over the timing equipment- it hasn't been used or touched (I believe) since our last autox, so I think its still not working correctly.

We can use the manual start/stop setting on the timing computer, it just won't trip the sensors...

Who used it last time? maybe you can shed some light on what I can do to fix it...

also, anyone with a stop watch- please bring it. We can use it as a back-up.

can you give info on departure times and stuff in general?

I don't know the exact model timing system we're dealing with, but I think it's a Race America - the manuals can be downloaded here: http://www.raceamerica.com/download.html. That may at least give us some solid troubleshooting help.. Make sure we have fresh batteries, and it wouldn't hurt to bring different cables too - I think I have a pretty long piece of telephone cable with the RJ11 ends if that's what our system takes).

I know the night before the event isn't a great time to be sorting this out - but c'mon... We've had a few months now :?

not exactly sure what you mean, but runs start at noon. Check your email for details from Gerald.

You're right about the last minute thing John... its just that Cobetto has had this equipment and it never gets used besides us. I forgot about the problem we had with it last time until I picked it up. We'll try a few things with it, or just use the manual start/stop.

See everyone in the morning!

- Chris - 11-29-2004

great time guys... thanks for all the help.

we had a few issues with the lot not being open on time, but everything worked out.

Blair and Aaron, sorry you missed it, try for the next one.

We raised a pretty decent amount for the club this time, probably $500+

If you didn't know, we are having another one: Dec. 18th!! at VMP.

- Mike - 11-29-2004

did the timing equipment work?

Sweet... I RULE B-STOCK! Just ignore the underdrive pulley... And, thanks to a mysterious and non-repeatable coolant leak, I missed out on two runs (was supposed to get one more regular run and then a rerun 'cause somebody else caused a red-flag). My 53.824 was clean, iirc - but they don't have me down for any cones on any of the other runs. Hilarious - 'cause I was doing tank slappers almost the whole way down the back part of the course and easily took out 5-6 cones...

Had a great time, as usual. We need to be more organized, as usual :?
