So wait...why is the car running like shit now? Esp if you rebuilt the engine recently...?

A combination of the previous owner being a dumbass and a certain shop doing a horrible job and butchering my car. I've spent the last 5-6 months fixing up their haphazard work. For example, previous welded a Midas special together w/ 3 inch exhaust pipes. Certain shop didn't torque any bolts down, and I lost a handful including one of the bolts that hold the motor and trans together. Not to mention 7 of out 8 flywheel bolts backing out and chewing up my disc. They didn't hook up the vacuum lines properly, nor did they wire the car properly, so i spent the summer with a shop manual going over everything. Other than that, maintenance stuff like the brake master cylinder, clutch master cyl, clutch slave, main relay going bad. But i've fixed almost everything to my knowledge, including upgrading to legend twin piston calipers so everything should be on the up and up. Anyways, does anyone know where I can get a beginners kit.

Regarding motor availability, h22a's run about a grand cheaper than any vtec b-series motor. check out hmotorsonline. something like 300,000 civics were sold per year for like 7-10 years so there greater demand hence, 3.5-4k for a b18c5, 1,950 for a h22a swap.

Getting back to the matter at hand, where can i get beginner kits?

Quote:I'm not trying to be a dick or an elitist or anything, but I've seen an STi with a downpipe and engine management beat an SRT-10 Viper on the drag strip 2 runs out of 4. Horsepower doesn't mean dick if you can't get the traction to turn it into speed.

Maybe it's just me, but I think it's impressive that a well-tuned AWD 4 cylinder car can smoke a muscle car with more than twice the displacement and cylinders~

Under no circumstances is the WRX a good choice for drag racing. Tell me what the fastest American Spec STi runs...now tell me what the fastest American Spec Evo8 runs...now explain why there is such a difference.

Yes, Traction is THE most important part of racing, ANY kind of racing. But we're not all trying to be the quickest or the fastest...he can have plenty of b00st without buying a new car...

Andy I'll shoot Mike an email soon and see what the deal is...in fact I'll talk with you about it in person but I wanted to make this post appear productive.

No, it = fun. Don't be mad because I can spin the tires at 70 mph and you can't.
