The headache of the situation sucks but will hopefully be short-lived. There are some great stories in there for sure and it looks like you guys had fun on the road trip. I am slightly uncomfortable with your feet on the dash though, I don't think Kenny Chesney meant that to be the driver.

Sorry, meant they would be taking a direct financial loss as opposed to taking no loss and having their parent (Lithia) pay for warranty repairs. Therefore a buyback is not on the table, at least in the eyes of the selling dealership (AoJ).

How many miles were on this thing? I've owned 3 of these engines at this point and know of a lot of people that have dropped them into muscle cars. They seem to handle some abuse pretty well but rarely make it anywhere near 200k miles without a replacement or rebuild. I know you're probably set on ditching this thing asap but I wouldn't be too concerned just yet with all the different error codes that popped up. The challenger lit up like a christmas tree when the ABS module went out.

I did the same thing with my last 3 cars, all german, too. Hell of a dice roll but I'm glad I did have to find out of the warranty paper was printed on 2-ply or not.

Ironically enough my German cars and Range Rover have all been incredibly reliable.

Considering the car had a full maintenance history from dealerships, one previous owner, was a 2015, and this was a national dealer brand selling the car, PPI seemed unnecessary. I have done this before for my two previous German cars and had absolutely no issues. Whatever happened doesn’t seem like something a PPI would have caught. Plus with a warranty from the selling dealer, there was a lot of confidence in this purchase. Just based on my experience with cars [emoji2373]

The car only had 65k miles when I bought it, put another 1,500 on it since purchase. Pretty low for something like this to happen.

What did we learn from this experience?

Personally I'd trust (and do with my ownership) a German car long before a Chrysler product (based on past experiences)
