RE: 1995 s14 240sx - maxsam - 03-19-2019 Alright did some more small jobs on it. Replaced the radiator hoses with similar silicon ones that I'm running in my miata for 2 years now. Also changed the thermostat, gasket, oem temp gauge sensor, and installed an aftermarket temp gauge: ![]() I didn't want any 2.5 inch circular gauges because you need to find some where to put them, like delete vents or something. So I found this motorcycle gauge that is just a flat numeric display which fits what I wanted perfectly. It came with velcro and and extension which I ran along a heater cable grommet in the firewall. Works pretty good, car stays around 178-185F with factory 173F thermostat. Also the aftermarket sensor may or may not have jb weld around it to seal... The gauge: ![]() Also flipped the rear tires around to stop the inside from having more camber wear and cording. The tires are like brand new except this rear camber wear. Thanks to my guy™ he did it for only a redbull. He also passed the inspection on it earlier this month! I also wasted like 2 hours of my life trying to clean them really good and putting some wax on them: ![]() Finally, I got a pair of real replica brides delivered: ![]() Just waiting on a street faction seat rail to come in, which should be here tomorrow. Still need to do the clutch and suspension arms. Thinking about ordering another 4 mb battles for drift spares. I would too if they were reclineable because they give out easy but a fixed back is decent. Obviously not fia rated but many of the real brides arent either actually. And people use them all the time in drifting with no issues. And I am getting a really well built street rail to mount it. But yeah real ones are better just too expensive for me in college. RE: 1995 s14 240sx - maxsam - 03-24-2019 Dropped the transmission and pulled off the old clutch today, ![]() ![]() Somebody before installed a 6 puck clutch. As we were impacting off the pressure plate, tons of crumbling dust was falling off. The clutch disk was worn straight against the studs, and literally falling apart. Also with the transmission out the car, the throw out bearing was sliding super sticky from the grease that gummed up. Explains why the clutch pedal was sticky and grabbing at the very last inch of throw. Going to get some of the small parts washed in a parts washer just because. And pick up a trans driveshaft seal + rear main seal . 1995 s14 240sx - Senor_Taylor - 03-24-2019 Nah she's fine. Throw it back in and go another 200k. So the 'ebay' XTD clutch was installed along with the lightweight flywheel. Could have went on better, but none the less went on. Solved all my sticky clutch problems. Grabs nice while not being stiff. No chattering, very nice!. Next I received my street faction seat rails so was able to put in my bucket seat. ![]() Fits perfectly for me. Using the slider, I max it all the way forwards so I reach the pedals lol. The angle of the lean and the height is also pretty great. I also find it comfy to daily. With about 250 miles on the clutch, the verona autocross event came up. Anybody interested in seeing a POV video? ![]() And I really enjoyed it during the autocross. And it did a fairly good time with the 255 all seasons on it! Bucket seat held me in great, the 2-way lsd didn't do anything weird mid turn and hooked great on corner exit, coilovers were fairly planted and not too harsh either. Next I finally installed my adjustable control arms (only in the rear so far) with eccentric lockout bolts ![]() ![]() Rear toe arm, rear upper arm, and rear traction rod installed! Did a quick ghetto alignment to around -1 degree rear camber, and attempt at 0 toe. Next up I went to a drift event at Shenandoah speedway. It did pretty good but I left early because I got sick unfortunately. Not a lot of power but still possible with skinnier wheels and tires I bought for spares and at 75psi. Clutch held up great with all the clutch kicks and stuff. After a month of dailying, a few days ago I installed the last remaining Voodoo arm (front tension rod), put on new inner and outer tie rods, front and rear stoptech 'sport' pads. I have a desperately need alignment booked in two days. But best of all, I replaced a fuse AND MY AC NOW WORKS!!!! I also picked up some non-abs brake line stuff for free, thinking about getting rid of it (since it doesn't even work. and if it did, it doesn't work good from what I hear). Well I've got another drift event in 1.5 weeks to go to! All the mods I was planning to do are basically done now. I just want to get some better tires on my current wheels and go to some NASA events!
