all that is in the works as well... Tongue BLING!

- Mike - 10-15-2004

then i'd just save the money, get some interest off it, and use the interest on consumables.

- Kaan - 10-15-2004

I have plenty of money in the bank Tongue and i just want to burn some BAH paychecks... since they all came in at one time... 3 checks!

I'll take those off your hands!

Inline Pro built a d16. Aftermarket rods, pistons, cleaned up the head, upgraded valve train on 6psi. 171 whp. I don't know if time/invest is worth all that especially when you have a b16 head. LSVtec is so easy to do now, especially with all those kits that eliminate all the machining. around 180 whp. Not a sermon, just a thought.

I am not a big fan of LS/Vtec. You cant rev the LS bottom end like you can a vtec bottom end.... and those heads need revs to make power.

Turbocharger.

Don't be a pussy.

I say b00st the CRX pile, keep the EG NA. This will provide you will two trackable cars with totally different powerband applications. You would serve to be an excellent learning experience for all of us in terms of being able to tell us the positive and negative aspects of both (from firsthand experience, not the typical bench racing bullshit) since you'll be using similar platforms. Like you said, both would be pretty expendable, which helps out a lot. Furthermore, neither will be terribly unreliable and you would still have a 2nd fun car to drive in the case that one does meet its demise. I think you'd enjoy this route b/c you've always talked about your crazy B20 concoction, have realize the merits of a tracked EG, get to keep up your love for the CRX (for some ungodly reason :-D), and get to experience the wonderful thing called b00st. As opposed to being so anti-turbo like many people around here, I say that you should do it just for fun. I am pro-turbo simply b/c I have loved my experiences with turbocharged cars (despite the heartache from the redhead) and will continue to support them, despite thier supposed unreliability. As long as you strictly maintain them, you'll be fine, and I have no doubt that you will. As for pushing 6-8 psi through it, that should net you more than 40hp, depending on what kind of mods you add with it, but it will still be noticably quicker and I imagine Mikey would be quite upset when you rolled him hard on the straight b/c your 1.6 @6 psi will eat his little NA 1.8L alive given similar driving.

Til it blows up... Cars not meant to be turbo'd generally don't live too long on track, it's just the way it is. I'm not anti-turbo, but I'm a huge pro-reliability supporter.

Ever wonder why there is only one (that I know of) boosted Honda that we ever see? It is fast as hell, but the motor is toast.

:?:

If you're talking about Don's hatch, the motor isnt toast because of boost.

- Mike - 10-17-2004

I'm sure it could have been a contributing factor. Or was it fucked before he even boosted it?

- navin - 10-17-2004

Don - with the white EG hatch..?

I'm pretty sure it had bent valves...

PS - Kaan, I might have a complete GSR "Poor Mans Type-R" complete motor for sale..

11.4:1 compression > b00st Tongue

- Mike - 10-17-2004

when are you finding out what the deal is navin?

- navin - 10-17-2004

i had to get trasnferred to another person at Safeco, who deals with buy backs and totalled cars I guess..

I think I'll ring them up tommorow if I get some time...

- Mike - 10-17-2004
