yeah, that silkolene silktran is similar to MTF or MT90, I don't know/remember which it's closer to. It's supposed to be pretty universal, fix all, do all, magical moon juice. I'll be grabbing a few more for myself soon if anyone wants some more.

I have a borg warner T-5 in the XR, and the best stuff for it is Redline ATF. Yeah, it's a manual tranny...

I assume this is for the 5-speed 'box going in...

the GM synchromesh stuff and yes, I'm not sure if it is synthetic or not, at that price, it probably is.

well when I put the new stuff in there was a similar smell, the old stuff was much, much stronger though.

I'm a big fan of Royal Purple. If nothing else, it doesn't smell like shit going in :-D.

Mobile1 Synthetic ATF did good things for my SHO's MTX - I couldn't believe you were supposed to use ATF for certain manuals Confusedhock: .

I recently replaced the mobil 1 in my tranny with simple Honda MTF. With the mobil 1, I could barely get it in gear when the car was cold. I also noticed less grinding on track this weekend, but that could be from more careful shifting.

just put synchromesh in my car today thanks to Andy and Danny. Car shifts so smoothly I'm amazed. There really is something to changing the tranny oil, I'm impressed. Just hope it holds up for a nice long time.

I have a cobra T-5 (Manual), and the best stuff for it is Redline ATF.

- GQROB - 12-17-2004

I use Redline Lightweight Shockproof in my transmission (2001 2.5RS) after having grinding problems on track. The grinding problem is resolved and the shockproof has held up just fine.

I'm ashamed to say I used the GM synchromesh fluid in mine. I walked into a GM dealership for the first time last week. I felt so dirty. I did have my mustang hat on though 8).
