RE: 40th Anniversary Z - ScottyB - 09-18-2018 had to go back to the top for a before/after look, and its a definite improvement! nice idea on the plate mount too. RE: 40th Anniversary Z - RawrImAMonster - 09-18-2018 The original front bumper was one of the reasons I never got a 370z until now. I hate the factory one with the weird looking under bite/fangs. With the new bumper, I really like the way these look overall. Now it just needs a mild drop and some spacers and I'm done with changing the looks. I checked out the retrofit source but didn't really see anything that looked like it would work. Aftermarket kits are like 300 bucks but apparently aren't really that reliable. I might just try to find someone selling a broken set because I probably won't hook the DRL's up anyway. I just want something to fill in those two spots. RE: 40th Anniversary Z - RawrImAMonster - 09-21-2018 Update: The epoxy I used didn't hold up that well on the bottom two magnets. I think it was because the bottom two magnets wanted to keep moving while it was drying. I'm going to try JBWeld and tape them in place while they're drying this time. I also need to add a spacer to both of the bottom two magnets. Otherwise the plate tends to lean to one side or the other because of the shape of the bumper. Here are two more pictures that show a little more of the car. I'm very happy with the looks overall now. Like I said, just a little bit lower and some 10/15mm spacers and it will be where I want. ![]()
RE: 40th Anniversary Z - RawrImAMonster - 01-28-2019 ![]() https://www.fastintentions.com/product_info.php/products_id/14 Picked this up used for a good price off Facebook. I should be able to make a couple hundred on the exhaust whenever I sell the car. This is pretty much the best sounding exhaust for the 370z and probably the most highly sought after piece. Buying them new takes a couple months between ordering and delivery so that's just one more reason to go used. I don't really know how long I'm going to keep this car so any mods I buy are going to be used so I can get my money back when I sell it. I put the car up on my lift last week with the intentions of installing this myself, but the stock bolts were very rusty. Between that and barely being able to turn my head from a neck injury earlier in the week, I said screw it and let an exhaust shop install it for 60 bucks. I'll be picking the car up this evening so hopefully I'll get some videos before too long. Other than that, no new updates since the front bumper. I haven't had any problems out of this car so far so hopefully it stays that way. 40th Anniversary Z - Senor_Taylor - 01-28-2019 $60 is a steal. Miss u Harrisonburg. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk RE: 40th Anniversary Z - davej - 01-28-2019 Damnit, did we just miss an opportunity to buy an oxy-acetylene torch?! I still have yet to see this in person, but now get to look forward to the sweet, sweet music of Japan. Probably a trip to Jalisco's for lunch is in order...although Jalapeno's has $2 margaritas right now... RE: 40th Anniversary Z - RawrImAMonster - 01-28-2019 Yeah just let me know when you want to. Always down for some Jaliscos. I haven't been to Jalapenos in a while though. I didn't mention in the original post, but the version I have originally came with the 12" resonators, but they have since been cut out and replaced with a straight pipe. I've still got them at my house so if it's too loud or I add HFC's in the future, I can put those on to calm it down. RE: 40th Anniversary Z - .RJ - 01-28-2019 mmmmmmm Jaliscos RE: 40th Anniversary Z - RawrImAMonster - 01-29-2019 Definitely going to need those resonators. This thing is stupid loud without them. It's loud enough that I feel bad driving it through the neighborhood. On the upside it sounds really really good. Way better than the M3 did. Hopefully the resonators don't affect the tone much, but the plan currently is to get those welded in next week at some point. I'll make sure to get an exhaust video this weekend before I do. RE: 40th Anniversary Z - RawrImAMonster - 02-04-2019 Here's a video from this weekend. It's currently at the exhaust shop getting the resonators put back on the x pipe though so I'll get another before too long. RE: 40th Anniversary Z - Sijray21 - 02-04-2019 that sounds delicious RE: 40th Anniversary Z - RawrImAMonster - 02-05-2019 Now that the resonators are on the tone is pretty much exactly the same. It's just maybe 15% quieter which is enough to get rid of the bad drone it had before. I'm pretty happy with the sound overall now. RE: 40th Anniversary Z - RawrImAMonster - 10-10-2019 This thing is for sale if anyone is interested. I'm probably going to just stick with the GTI for the winter and get something else next spring. I'm thinking maybe an M2 + some sort of beater SUV. My girlfriend wants to buy the GTI when I sell it so I can sell it but still kind of keep it. That's a plus in my book because I actually like the GTI enough as a daily driver that I'm hesitant to get anything else. 40th Anniversary Z - JPolen01 - 10-10-2019 You might be the biggest undercover vehicle revolver around here. Can't beat that kind of deal to keep the GTI around. Keep on revolving! RE: 40th Anniversary Z - RawrImAMonster - 11-25-2019 Sold this over the weekend. Time to start shopping, but I probably won't buy anything until next spring unless I find a really good deal. |
