I've seen way more keyway issues on later cars than I have on early 1.6's.....

I am aware of them. My vin number is a later model 91, so it came with a long nose. That being said, I have discovered in my ownership that the motor is from a different car (93 i believe). So much for Bob and Phyllis' story. When I did the timing belt I COULD NOT get the timing cog off, no matter how I pried, pulled, etc. I wonder if this block has already had the jb weld fix? I don't know, I'm probably going to just get rid of it, and do what I SHOULD have done and buy a newer car that will inherently have less problems.
I've tried 2 crank pulley's now, both show the same issue. I do wonder though...you know when you see car with muddy sidewalls on a quarter of the tire, and the tire appears to "wobble"? I wonder if the slightly rusty crank pulleys are causing a "wobbly optical illusion." The car runs great other than at idle. I had a similar problem on some of my honda's where the car would stall as your come to a stop after depressing the clutch pedal; fixed it by cleaning the IACV. I haven't done a bunch of research on this, as it's only a minor inconvenience, and I've figured out how to avoid it altogether by changing driving habits (avoiding depressing the clutch in certain rpm ranges as I'm coming to a stop).
Other than that, it seems fine, especially now that the cooling problem is definitely fixed. Replaced radiator, and IACV hoses, has not overheated once. Now to fix the A/C that is always on (won't cycle off). Stuck clutch? New compressor time? Miscellaneous wiring gremlin from almost 30 year old car?
