Is there any way to make the default font a bit larger all around? At least until Tapatalk is fixed?

Oh one more question, any chance the old avatars are cached somewhere? I have no idea where the original of mine is and can't get it from archive.org

Yeah, this is an entirely new system running everything (myBB instead of phpBB) so I had to pick a new theme and tweak to make it look more "MMish".

I will work on the font size, contrast and color stuff tomorrow sometime, as well as Tapatalk integration. Wasn't able to FTP from work so have to do it outside of 9-5 hours, drat.

The old forum is still preserved 100%, just disabled. So I can get avatars at peoples' request. Goody, I'll look for yours tomorrow.

Super cool, thanks!  Heart

RE: New forum software is live! - Apoc - 09-16-2017

This is MUCH better for mobile... just gotta get the contrast right.

RE: New forum software is live! - Jake - 09-17-2017

Tapatalk should be live now, look for "Madison Motorsports" in the app. May take a little bit for them to get it all published.

Also tried adding some contrast and I think it helped. Feedback?

RE: New forum software is live! - Apoc - 09-17-2017

Needs a lot more contrast - the quote shouldn't be darker than post header/footer. Make it dark gray or faded purple and change the quote to yellow or a more faded purple.

Also the padding/margin above the user name is really big, which adds to white space.ER

RE: New forum software is live! - Apoc - 09-17-2017

Is image auto-sizing something that can be enabled?

See: http://forum.mmsports.org/showthread.php?tid=10568&pid=281227#pid281227

I appreciate the flexible width given I don't use taptatalk, but I wouldn't mind a max width of like 1600px. Having the browser maximized on 2160px makes the site really wide.

RE: New forum software is live! - Sully - 09-17-2017

Yay! Tapatalk. I feel like I've missed so much. Nice update...I think lol. From the quick stuff I've seen online (I only use Tapatalk) looks like things are shiny and new. I like super dark things for contrast. Like I use Tapatalk dark and if there's an option for it, I make phone settings dark too. But that's just me and I don't use the website so carry on. Thanks for the doing all the hard work!

Any progress on the user registration issues?

I turned off one option that was (I believe) showing an errant field that could not be validated. Everything should work now but let me know if it's not. I'll do some testing as well.

I don't know if you did anything with the look of the forum since someone pointed out it was difficult to view the posts due to the color scheme, but it looks much better now. I can clearly decipher between posts and can follow a quoted post easily now. Good work!

Thanks Big Grin  I added a purple bar to the top of every post to help show separation, and changed the quotation styling to be lighter. Glad it is easier to follow now! Need to work on getting rid of all this green everywhere still.

#content max width of width: 1600px

.post border-top: 10px

pretty please with cherries on top!

RE: New forum software is live! - davej - 09-20-2017

The dividers and quote formatting make it much easier to roll through a page of posts. Thanks for all of your work running and upgrading the site!

Is it still pushing too wide? I added a max width to images and it looked to work on my computer. Will investigate...

RE: New forum software is live! - Apoc - 09-20-2017

My monitor is 2560x1440 and I generally run maximized or close to it. Images are better, but not great, and reading text or clicking right-aligned buttons on the other side of the screen isn't a great UI experience (for me). Ideally, you'd set the content max width and also add a max height to the images.

This is the first post in RJ's A4 thread.

The mobile experience is great (edit: although viewing the picture below on my desktop is very painful because there's no max height and it renders as 2160px tall)

Gotcha. You may be a bit of a snowflake with so many pixels of width goin' on but the trend will only keep going that way for the rest of us. I'll throw the max width on and see how that goes.

That's probably true, but even my laptop at home is 4k resolution. Of course kids these days only use their phone so....

RE: New forum software is live! - Apoc - 09-21-2017

Can we set hyperlinks to be a different color than text? This is key when people do inline links with text labels.

RE: New forum software is live! - Sully - 09-21-2017

I still don't know how to do this. Is it even possible with Tapatalk... Easily?

Also maybe it'll be fixed now but whenever people did more than one link in a post, Tapatalk would only send you to one. You'd click on either one and they'd both go to the same page.
