Re: Chad's Cobra - RawrImAMonster - 08-17-2016 Apparently some guy is flying in from Michigan to buy it for full asking price on Friday. Seems crazy to not haggle at all, but I guess we'll see how that pans out. He works for Ford apparently so who knows. Edit: Told his dad all he needs to know about verifying the check first. I've sold a few cars this way and it hasn't been a problem so far. Re: Chad's Cobra - fiveoh2go - 08-17-2016 I'd be leery of a check. It's 2016...make the buyer wire the money, if he wants the car that bad he'll do whatever you ask. Re: Chad's Cobra - Mike - 08-18-2016 Personal check? Yeah, no way. Cashier's? Sure, as long as you can call the bank to verify it. Re: Chad's Cobra - WRXtranceformed - 08-18-2016 Agreed, I accepted a verified cashier's check for the Jag. Personal check no chance Re: Chad's Cobra - Scott - 08-18-2016 Mike Wrote:Personal check? Yeah, no way. WRXtranceformed Wrote:Agreed, I accepted a verified cashier's check for the Jag. Personal check no chance Both of these. Make sure to verify with the issuing bank, or go to the bank (if it's a national brand) and cash it before the title leaves. Re: Chad's Cobra - RawrImAMonster - 08-22-2016 Buyer fell through, couldn't get a loan. But yeah, definitely no way on personal checks. I'm guessing they'll just sell it to Hi-End Auto. $20k isn't a bad offer for it. Re: Chad's Cobra - fiveoh2go - 08-23-2016 These cars have fallen into a curious predicament..many of them are still worth $20K+ but most financial institutions won't extend auto loans on them as they're too old. Robert at Hi-End somehow finds people financing on these cars, that's why he's the go-to-guy nationally when shopping for Terminators/GT500s on credit. Re: Chad's Cobra - SlimKlim - 08-23-2016 Navy Federal and PenFed (I think) will still finance just about anything. Re: Chad's Cobra - fiveoh2go - 08-23-2016 As I said, most financial institutions won't write loans for Terminators. There's almost always an exception, but even still there are certain qualifying factors that you must meet before Navy Federal or PenFed will talk to you. Re: Chad's Cobra - navin - 09-06-2016 PenFed = make a small donation to a military charity on their site and you become a member. I have PenFed...that's what it took to "qualify". Re: Chad's Cobra - RawrImAMonster - 09-08-2016 Cobra is gone. Hi-end Auto finally got around to buying it. Re: Chad's Cobra - fiveoh2go - 09-11-2016 Good deal, glad that worked out. |
