Re: Project: Swagger Wagon - CaptainHenreh - 05-02-2016 Neat! I think this will be a great car for the three of you. ![]() Re: Project: Swagger Wagon - Apoc - 05-02-2016 Mike Wrote:you want black wheels? what, are you 17 years old? The Mini has black wheels. :dunno: Re: Project: Swagger Wagon - Beej - 05-03-2016 Nice choice, and I really dig the color combo. I do feel obliged to agree that it's weird the rear seats have more support than the fronts but hey. I would've considered it if it came up during my family vehicle search. Congrats on that bit too! Re: Project: Swagger Wagon - Apoc - 05-03-2016 The irony, if you can call it that, is I didn't even notice the seats until RJ pointed it out. Re: Project: Swagger Wagon - Apoc - 05-30-2016 Took the car on the first real highway miles this weekend. We loaded it up with camping gear for three days of car camping in eastern Washington (which is every part east of the Cascade mountains). There isn't a ton to say other can the car eats highway miles better than any car I've had in awhile. There are more electronics in this thing than in god's car and it's integrated well enough that it's not overbearing. Some things are total gimmicks, like text and email on the screen, but things like the heads up display is really cool. There's one feature that I've liked way more than I thought I would - blind spot detection. The car has a little warning sign that lights up on the inside of the side view mirror if any car is in your blind spot. If you turn on your signal, the steering wheel and gas peddle vibration quickly, but somewhat dull... just enough to get your attention without being jarring. I always turn my head, but I've had the warning spot a car a few times that I didn't expect to see there when I turned my head. Also, rear glass that opens? Totally thought it was gonna be a gimmick but came in really handy while camping. One thing I haven't gotten used to is the engine auto-shutoff when stopped. I had to turn it off in holiday traffic. :? Other than that, this car is the tits. I'm really, really surprised how nice it is. I mean it should be for the money, but it wasn't that much more than what I paid for my brand new Legacy and this car is miles ahead. Coming soon is tint. I also wouldn't mind a roof carrier. ![]() ![]() Re: Project: Swagger Wagon - WRXtranceformed - 05-31-2016 Got a ride in this car last week, +1 would recommend! Very comfy and composed when Chris was navigating the hilly windy Seattle neighborhood roads. Just watch out for those evil curbs bro!! Re: Project: Swagger Wagon - Apoc - 06-12-2016 Yay adulting! I'm surprised it fit the table without putting the seats down. I know this had a ton of space because we took a stroller and car seat car shopping, but I'm still surprised by it. The more I think about it, I do think a car top carrier will be necessary when we start camping with the kid. ![]() Re: Project: Swagger Wagon - ScottyB - 06-14-2016 Apoc Wrote:The more I think about it, I do think a car top carrier will be necessary when we start camping with the kid doing ANYTHING kid-related is easier with a cartop carrier, i promise you. so nice to have and some of them can accept a ton of luggage despite their weird size/shape. most are aerodynamic enough that i doubt you'd kill more than 1-2 mpg on the highway. Re: Project: Swagger Wagon - Apoc - 06-27-2016 So, the wife asked if we could tint the car to protect Le Child from the (more than you'd think) sun vs. using one of those lame ass shades. I've had tint on pretty much every car I've owned, except the Saab cause that was a beater, so I wasn't gonna argue. We're right about at legal limit... or close enough. These pictures were taken while the sun was low in the sky, so it looks darker than it probably would at high noon. Murder out brah! ![]() ![]() ![]() Re: Project: Swagger Wagon - .RJ - 06-28-2016 STAHP I LIKE IT Re: Project: Swagger Wagon - WRXtranceformed - 06-28-2016 The Darknessssss Re: Project: Swagger Wagon - Steve85 - 07-01-2016 #firstchildworries #secondkidgetstoeatdirt Re: Project: Swagger Wagon - Apoc - 10-05-2016 Doin work! ...as Lee would say. I have no real update other than to say this car is perfect for us. I think to myself at least once a week how good it is for the things we use it for. I say this with a one month old and having done a crapton of home repair the last few weeks. ![]() Re: Project: Swagger Wagon - WRXtranceformed - 10-06-2016 Apoc Wrote:Doin work! ...as Lee would say. Doin' work! It's pretty awesome to find a vehicle that just "works" for your current needs and lifestyle. This is the same feeling I have about my truck. Re: Project: Swagger Wagon - .RJ - 10-06-2016 Saw a RWD, 6-speed version of that on autotrader this week... cant decide if a few year newer BMW would be a better car to own than my A4. Re: Project: Swagger Wagon - *insertusernamehere* - 10-06-2016 Pretty! I just drove past one on the way home. The design of this gen really suits the wagon body style. Re: Project: Swagger Wagon - .RJ - 10-07-2016 Yuns say this, but, I've had my A4 for 2 years now and the only problems (outside of normal maintenance) were a stuck thermostat and worn out upper control arm bushings :dunno: I'm getting a little worried right now, the only thing I've done to the car in the past 8 months is change the oil  The shit I read about the E90 chassis as the miles go up is not much better than owning an E46.... but would be newer and probably drive better. Re: Project: Swagger Wagon - Apoc - 10-07-2016 I never had anything go wrong with my E36 M3, except when I crashed it. My B5 S4 was everything Audi is known to be. Neither of these data points really matter at a macro level though. If nothing else, newer, less miles, and a warranty is worth an upgrade IMO. |
