Re: Fender Roller/Rolling - rherold9 - 02-28-2014

I'm going to zero out the toe for the most part and up the caster so I don't have the issues mentioned. I know the car is going to drive a lot different. I have a pretty good idea about what is going to happen when I do this. I might make a build thread sometime over Spring Break since so many people said I should. I got rid of most of my pics that I had when Installing things but I'll try to find them again.

I won't be running these except for a few months out of the year I may even keep them off unless I'm doing some fun driving. Not sure yet.

I have researched this and talked to people about it and I'm confident everything will be fine. I ain't stupid Big Grin (I think). It may be a bit much but if I do it. I want it done right the first time!! And 245s really aren't that big and too much....

Re: Fender Roller/Rolling - SlimKlim - 02-28-2014

I'm just saying if my 2-sumthin-sumthin horsepower E36 with almost every go-fast suspension modification you can install has oodles of grip with 245s, Jake's race car runs 245s, and Mr. Super-Professional-Racecar-Driver-DJ runs 255 HooHoos, then your 170hp FWD Mazda is not going to be making use of all that grip. I genuinely believe the car will be more fun to drive with less tire on it. And screw swapping rims around when you want to go out for a cruise, that'll get old quick.

But I'll shut up, I've stated my piece and you've done your research.

Re: Fender Roller/Rolling - JPolen01 - 02-28-2014

If you're doing an alignment with all of the camber/toe modifications to run wider rims and tires and then switching between that and stock, you're going to camber wear the piss out of your stock set up. Ask me how I know. The stock setup probably won't like 2 degrees of camber either.

? I swore I gave it back to you. I will check the basement. I specifically remember bringing it to the track. I may be wrong.

Ha. Nope, I haven't seen it. Maybe you passed it on to one of the others in line?

I don't really care, as long as it ultimately ends up home!

Re: Fender Roller/Rolling - Ken - 02-28-2014

Just my two cents, when I had my Ralliart it came with 215's stock. I bought new wheels and tires and switched to 235's and that was a HUGE difference. You might get everything you're expecting by just switching to 235's.

265 Master race reporting in.

Re: Fender Roller/Rolling - rherold9 - 03-01-2014

Well I picked them up. They look wayyyy better in person than in pictures. Anyways this shall be fun time once I can get them on. It is going to be fun. And yeah Im probably going to just keep them on 2-4 months of the year that will be maybe less than 1000 miles on them a year. But, Yeah the stock tires will have a bit much too much camber for their with but you got to make sacrifices somewhere. I can easily adjust camber myself though back down if I do need to run really high camber to fit these.

I mean all in all I'm willing to what it takes for my personal happiness and make my car enjoyable for myself. Everyone has their own cup of tea they like. I don't mind having to deal with a few minor details to have a car I reallllllyyy like.

True. I don't NEED a playstation2 hooked up in my truck, but I like it. Why not?

Re: Fender Roller/Rolling - JustinG - 03-07-2014

Yea......vadriven.....where eCocks go to circle jerk.

Your better off just cutting your losses and never posting on that forum again. And if you don't own a honda, the classifieds are just as worthless as the rest of the forum.

Re: Fender Roller/Rolling - Jake - 03-07-2014

I forgot about that forum. Reading the thread makes me want to forget all over again.

Re: Fender Roller/Rolling - SlimKlim - 03-07-2014

That's almost as bad as VWvortex. I had the GTI taken apart and had ripped 2 wires clean out of a plug on the waterpump and didn't know which way to solder them back together. I posted on there begging someone to go shine a flashlight under their intake manifold and tell me which color wire was on top, and they spent 48 hours making smart ass comments instead of taking 30 seconds to go look at their car and help me. I had to drive Jake's Miata to the dealership and beg for the mercy of a service advisor, who was kind enough to let me pull the engine cover off another customer's CC and inspect what I needed. Haven't been on that forum since, bunch of sexually frustrated teenagers who wouldn't know a tit from an air strut.

At the time, this was a much more perilous journey than one sentence implies.

Re: Fender Roller/Rolling - SlimKlim - 03-07-2014

Yes, Jake's Miata while it was pouring toxic smoke and had a loose motor mount or not enough exhaust clearance or something, so it sounded like it was going to vibrate itself to pieces at stoplights.

Re: Fender Roller/Rolling - Jake - 03-07-2014

Theeeere ya go.

Re: Fender Roller/Rolling - D_Eclipse9916 - 03-07-2014

Found it... I have it. I lied.

Re: Fender Roller/Rolling - SlimKlim - 03-07-2014

You bastard! You told me you didn't have it when I rented one. Some people.

I motion that DJ makes a house key for everyone in MM that owns a BMW so we have access to his surplus parts & tools stockpiles.

Patience is a virtue.... or something.
