Re: My 97' Daily Driven Civic Hatch - Mike - 11-24-2014

do it now. my hatch had an LS motor. plenty of scoot and great gas mileage, and just about as reliable as motor comes (it was stock... i'd imagine yours with different internals will be far less reliable). it really woke up with an ITR trans, but that also killed highway efficiency a good bit. don't budget turbo.

Re: My 97' Daily Driven Civic Hatch - ibjeepin95 - 12-08-2014

So the motor, trans, and clutch is officially mine. Now to research what the hell I really want to do with it. Going to pull the head real soon to see what the internals look like.

Good luck on this multi-year, tear-inducing journey!

Re: My 97' Daily Driven Civic Hatch - ibjeepin95 - 12-08-2014

Shit, I hope it's not multi-year. I hope to have it in by spring. I have virtually zero dollars in the motor/trans/clutch. The only things that should cost (granted the motor is all good in da hood) are the new mounts, ECU, jumper harness, ARP head studs and a good head gasket (for if/when I boost it), and a shifter linkage. Probably missing something, but that's not a lot of money for all that. The problem is that the Jeep will fight the Honda for money. Hopefully between my 20-30 hours a week (I'm expecting less than average hours due to *hopefully* taking COB 300 this spring) and side jobs it won't be too much of an issue.

Re: My 97' Daily Driven Civic Hatch - Kaan - 12-09-2014

exhaust is going to cost you something to rig up. IMHO you want to find a used Hondata S300 (v1s are cheapest but you'll eventually need to replace the internal battery) to manage the system. you'll spend some sort of money rigging an intake... you'll need axles too.

if you search on CL and hondatech you should be able to get everything pretty reasonably used.

Re: My 97' Daily Driven Civic Hatch - ibjeepin95 - 12-10-2014

Learn me something Kaan. Is S300 for the "tune"? Would this be in place of an ECU? All of this tuning shit is confusing me!
