Stay away from fabspeed, we have had nothing but terrible luck on them in the Bodymotion race cars. Terrible quality, fall apart, don't fit right, etc.
That kind of makes me feel good because another Cayman we wanted to take a look at had a Fabspeed exhaust. It was the charcoal color, which I really wanted, but the seller was like, "I had a guy see it last week and he said he is gonna buy it this weekend..." "Did he put down a deposit?" "No, but I'm holding it for him." Whatever man.

Quote:Also, hope you come and do some autox, but (and I highly doubt you would do this to that nice of a car), DONT track it. The cayman's would burn through almost a full set of pads in the rear in 2 sessions because of the "brakes pretending to be an LSD" in the rear.
Yeah we'll definitely be autocrossing.

This is what I hate about some of electronic control systems in cars these days. Too many of them are using the brakes as a substitute for a limited slip so they can cheap out. Almost all of the front wheel drive sport compacts are doing this, BMW is doing this, Porsche is doing this...I wish someone would make it illegal.

Oh well, I'll ask the Intersport guys about this, I'm sure there's a way to defeat that system (probably just turning PASM off).

Sounds like good things Smile As for turning PASM off, nope. I will also have to remember to ask Geoff about how they were defeated in the race cars, but I remember they had a helluva time figuring it out. You may also want to ask Jeff Curtis, I think he got his fixed.

To be honest, I wouldn't bother "fixing" it, for autox/daily itll work well and as Porsche intended.

Yeah I won't be heavily tracking this car anyway. Maybe an occassional VIR or NJMP.

I think Dr. Thomas has a cayman. Might be worth contacting him if you have any questions.

you bastard.

love those cars! nice pick and way to surprise the hell out of everyone. make sure you get up into the hills come fall and let that thing rip on some beautiful scenic roads. i've heard a couple p-car guys say that between the modern 911 and the cayman, the cayman is the better car pound for pound.

Congrats! Bring it out to Winchester for autox on Aug 10. CDC event at a nice sized lot.

Right time in life to buy, right car...what else to say, enjoy!

Last hurrah for the Cayman and a little photoshoot experiment by the airport. There are some things I'd like to do next time from what I learned hear, and I think the long exposure nightshoot that was my original idea, should work out pretty well.

I'm pretty happy with how the Sony a6000 performed here. You can still tell the difference between it and a full on DSLR but the difference isn't huge.
