Re: Brand Loyalty - ispoonwithmugen - 05-09-2013 Damn you guys have had a lot of cars, lol. Ford: 1 Scion: 1 Honda: 1 Subaru: 1 BMW: 2 Re: Brand Loyalty - Evan - 05-09-2013 no real loyalty here, although I do love how mazdas handle for a DD. Mazda x5 (4 used miatas....does that even count?) Ford x1 (wife picked it out, doesnt count) Inifinity x1 (wife again) Lotus x1 Nissan x3 (2 busted old 240s and my truck) Subaru x1 (wrx) Jeep x1 Chevrolet x1 (hand me down, doesnt count) Brand Loyalty - FlaakCM - 05-09-2013 Ford - 2 Jaguar - 1 Kawasaki - 1 Subaru - 1 Re: Brand Loyalty - kcook - 05-09-2013 Subaru x2 BMW x1 Volvo x1 Re: Brand Loyalty - Ryan T - 05-09-2013 Chevrolet x 5 (Z28, SS, Corvette, 2 Silverados) Toyota x 2 (both supras) Acura x 2 (integra & legend) Jeep x 2 (both XJs) Dodge x 1 (ram) Nissan x 1 (altima, wifes car) Mazda x 1 (626) Ford x 1 (F150) Re: Brand Loyalty - navin - 05-09-2013 Honda x 5 Toyota x 2 Although I don't think I'd ever buy a "newer" honda anymore. Re: Brand Loyalty - V1GiLaNtE - 05-09-2013 Ford x1 (F150) VW x1(Passat) Jeep x2(XJ's) So far I guess I've been a Jeep fanboi..? Re: Brand Loyalty - Jake - 05-09-2013 Ford (2) 2001 Escape - Mom's first, then mine, transmission failure at 92k - 'owned' 2.5 years (not in my name) 2013 Focus ST - the short bus - owned 4 months and counting Mazda (1) 1995 Miata - I've now spent multiple Miatas fixing this one - owned almost 5 years BMW (4) 1987 325e - shitpile, spray painted - owned 6 months 1991 535i - sexy, rusty, no heat - owned 1 year 1996 328i - shitpile, rusty, hungover purchase of idiocy - owned 8 days 1995 325i - actually really nice - owned 1 year As far as "loyalty" goes, eh. There are a lot of cars that I'd like to try owning for a bit, and they come from lots of brands. I cross-shopped Subaru, Hyundai, Mazda and VW against the Focus - and they all have good cars for the right people. Yes, even VW. I think I have a soft spot for 80s/90s BMWs and would like to own another someday soon. If I were to buy a truck, my irrational loyalty goes to Ford and I don't know why. Just always liked their SUV/truck offerings more than GM/Mopar. Re: Brand Loyalty - davej - 05-09-2013 Olds - 1 BMW - 1 Honda - 3 (bike included) VW - 1 Audi - 2 Chevy - 1 Subaru - 1 GMC - 1 Cadillac - 1 Jeep - 1 Gets worse if you include cars my wife had. Brand Loyalty - JPolen01 - 05-09-2013 Am I the next RJ? Honda x2 Re: Brand Loyalty - Jake - 05-09-2013 JPolen01 Wrote:Am I the next RJ? No, you keep yours too long. Re: Brand Loyalty - Goodspeed - 05-09-2013 I almost forgot how many cars y'old bastards have owned  Easy list for me, all in sig: Toyota x 1 Mazda x 1 Jeep x 1 As for being loyal, I can see Jeep being my standby for 4WD/Winter beater stuff, Mazda for DD's and/or cheap sports cars, and Toyota for busted old turbo'd sports cars (or DD's if you count late 90's/early 00's Lexus). Re: Brand Loyalty - Beej - 05-09-2013 BMW x 3 84 318i - dangerously slow, good car to cut my teeth on, responsible for this hobby 90 325is (330is) - better on paper, would still love to give a swapped e30 another shot 05 M3 - not bored yet, and if I were, I'm not sure what can replace it for the money Honda x 1 03 S2000 - adored this thing. Loud and impractical, leaked, A++, would buy again Subaru x 1 05 STi - loved it, glad I did it, probably past getting another one Ferrari x 0 :-( As I see it, potential future brands given recent offerings... Fun: Lotus, Porsche, Scion/Subaru, Chevy Real life: Nissan, Mazda, VW Both/either/or: BMW, Tesla (?) Re: Brand Loyalty - Steve85 - 05-09-2013 To address the real question of loyalty, the Honda's and Chevy's were car/brand driven purchases, most everything else was "right deal at the right time". Especially the Pathfinder and 525 which cost a total of $1.05. I should add the E30 was a car specific choice but that's not to say I don't like BMWs in general. The VWs were the wife's. I'll be replacing the Integra soon and it's real hard not to get into another Acura of some sort... Re: Brand Loyalty - Sully - 05-09-2013 Hmm let's see: Cars: Jeep x1 (02 Liberty POS) Ford x1 (01 F-150) Nissan x2 (94 sentra, 92 240sx) BMW x1 (for now) (99 M3) Honda x2 (both currently) (04 s2000, 98 civic coupe) Motorcycles and powersports: Kawasaki x5 (01 Prairie 300, 03 Bayou 250, 9? Mojave, 99 KX 125, 08 SX-R 800(PWC)) Arctic Cat x1 (04 something 400) Suzuki x2 (03? DR-Z 125, 07 GSX-R 600) Its funny because before JMU, I hated BMWs and swore I would never own one. Same goes for Honda's except I did always like the s2000's When I started looking at motorcycles, I never even considered Suzuki for my street bike and wanted Yamaha or Kawasaki even though my dirt bike at the time was Suzuki. I'm going by cars that were mine (I was the primary or only operator for them) or were in my name. Made in 'Murica! Ford x 4 Jeep x 2 Pontiac x 1 Re: Brand Loyalty - JohnC - 05-10-2013 4 wheels: BMW x 2 ('03 330i, '04 330ci) Ford x 2 ('94 Lightning, '00 Mustang) Honda x 1 ('11 Fit) Nissan x 1 ('90 300ZXTT) Saturn x 1 ('9? SL2) Subaru x 1 ('04 WRX) VW x 2 ('96 Jetta, '99 Golf) 2 wheels: Kawasaki x 1 ('99 Ninja 500) Honda x 1 ('01 VFR) Suzuki x 2 ('99 DR350, '04 SV650) Yamaha x 1 ('9? YZ250?) Very generally speaking, I've been happier with the BMWs and Hondas, but I wouldn't consider myself fanatically loyal to any particular manufacturer. I can overlook a lot of faults if the overall driving/riding experience is good. Re: Brand Loyalty - ViPER1313 - 05-10-2013 Ford x4 (97 Taurus, 92 SHO, 94 SHO, 12 Mustang) Pontiac x2 (07 Grand Prix, 86 Bonneville) VW x1 (07 Rabbit) Eagle x1 (90 Talon) Toyota x1 (93 Camry) Chrysler x1 (81 Imperial) I do consider myself more partial to Ford and American cars than I am to imports, but will buy whatever fits my need at the price point I am looking at. Kawasaki: 3 (kx100, kz400, some other 500 i can't remember) Honda: 1 (crf- 150R) wish i still had it too Yamaha: 20-ish? (.. too many to list most are 70's enduro bikes though) |
