The point was not to sell that particular car, just to show that a 5 second ebay search pulled up another make/model that could go in the pile Re: WTB: Grown-up Car - HAULN-SS - 01-17-2013 ^ I like those a lot too, however, that front end design is dated as shit. I'd much rather get an E350 in the 2010+ design Re: WTB: Grown-up Car - SlimKlim - 01-17-2013 HAULN-SS Wrote:^ I like those a lot too, however, that front end design is dated as shit. I'd much rather get an E350 in the 2010+ design You rikey the square running lights? I like the clean, softer lines of the W211's profile and the four round lights, but I do like the updated taillight design of the W212, and the interiors got significantly better. I love the brand new 2014 they just released, softened up the front of it with the new headlights and the interiors keep getting better. I'd always rather have the older, fully loaded performance model than the newer base model, but that's just me. I learned that lesson with my E46 325i. After 3+ years, despite all the hateful shit my rattly, smelly old pile of crap has put me through, I'd still do it all over again. My buddy has a black on black E55 AMG with a crazy ass modlist from the previous owner that bought it new. Looks, rides and sounds like stock until he hits the party pedal. Then the gloves are off. Like a bull with a wasp up its ass, shit's ridiculous. Re: WTB: Grown-up Car - Jake - 01-17-2013 Chris, I think I saw "Pontiac G8" mentioned in here somewhere. Why not one of those? They are sessytimes. Re: WTB: Grown-up Car - Ken - 01-17-2013 SlimKlim Wrote:The thing that convinced me to finally drop the Audi thing (because I did want one super hard) was taking a peek at the front suspension design. They have like eight front control arms, the shit is ridiculous. Also, I personally would have a hard time paying the $8-10k premium of an A5 over an A4 when its basically the same car with less doors. *Colombian. At least offend my people correctly dammit. Seriously, G8GT6MT is so rare as to might as well not exist. CTS-V is more plentiful, cheaper, and better appointed. There is a used 2013 A4 here in town for 33. Re: WTB: Grown-up Car - SlimKlim - 01-17-2013 Levey Wrote:A5's really are just a more expensive A4 with less doors. There is a used 2013 A4 here in town for 33. Yep. This is the exact reason BMW changed the nomeclature of their coupes to be the "4" series, even though its just a fluffed up 3 series with 2 doors. I can only imagine the conversations in the BMW Product Development division went something like this. 2010: LOL, did you guys see what Audi did? They actually think people are dump enough to pay $10k more for a car if you take off a couple doors and call it something different. 2011: ...son of a bitch, it actually worked. 2012: Hey Guys, check this shit out! For what its worth, Mike D'amico has a 2012 A4 and seems like he's been pretty happy with it so far. One of my co-workers just replaced her B6 A4 'vert with a 2013 A4 sedan and loves it. Apparently they are a rolling wifi hotspot. Not sure why, or how, but she thinks its the coolest shit since sliced bread. Re: WTB: Grown-up Car - Goodspeed - 01-18-2013 I'll be the first to mention it (I think) ![]() 2011+ Charger R/T? Might be worth a look - 370hp Hemi for $30k off the showroom floor and 25 highway. Re: WTB: Grown-up Car - ViPER1313 - 01-18-2013 In all seriousness, why do you care about MPG with a 14 mile commute? That $3 savings in gas each day driving a 200h...er Prius... isn't worth trading in your man card. I'm a cheap bastard but saving that nominal amount isn't worth detaching my testes. Re: WTB: Grown-up Car - Dave - 01-18-2013 I drive an old-ass, stock Accord to work (20 miles each way) almost every day, leaving the WRX in the garage. It makes me appreciate the WRX when I drive it, and I hoon the shit out of the Accord and still get incredible gas mileage (yay for E-brake drifting in the snow last night!). In the year I've owned it, it's paid for itself twice over just in gas savings, and it's a breeze to work on. If you've got room for parking, maybe drive some turd every day and spend all that extra money (gas savings + no car payment) on having fun with the Camaro while you (gasp) save up to pay cash for something that REALLY tickles your fancy. Or do the American thing and go in debt up to your eyeballs... Based on your...requirements...I'd say a G8 is pretty good since you don't care about what tranny you have (as Rex said, the 6MT is unobtainium). Fast, attractive, rare, insurance may not be too far from the mullet-mobile, and doubt it has some insane maintenance plan. I also don't understand why the G37 got ruled out either. Why would you let some stupid stereotype determine that you won't even consider a car that could possibly fit your needs perfectly? Re: WTB: Grown-up Car - SlimKlim - 01-18-2013 ^ This guy talks sense. WTB: Grown-up Car - JPolen01 - 01-18-2013 Dave Wrote:I also don't understand why the G37 got ruled out either.
