Long pants/sleeves a must? I know all that was needed this past weekend was the wristband and helmet, but just want to double check for our newer members.
With the temp, it shouldn't be an issue but long pants have always been required when I have been there.

All NASA-MA HPDEs require long pants & closed toe shoes. Short sleeves are allowed at many of 'em, TBA. Bring long sleeves just in case...

Re: Summit Point in November - Dave - 10-17-2012

I always bring a long-sleeve shirt to the track, and you should too (insert "most interesting man in the world" meme here).

Why, you say? You only have to wear it when you are on the hot pits or on track (you can still prance around in your spaghetti strap top in the paddock). When you're driving/riding, the air is blowing and you won't be hot unless the car itself is just dumping heat in the cabin. And if shit hits the fan on track, it's an incredibly cheap insurance policy: fire = that extra layer of clothing is a couple extra seconds before you burn; crash = some protection from glass & debris flying around in the cabin; you get the point...

Re: Summit Point in November - Cody - 10-17-2012

Any spots still open for Hyperdrive? Filled up yesterday.... any suggestions?

Re: Summit Point in November - getfast - 10-17-2012

Been full for weeks with a long waiting list, sorry. We are daylight- and instructor-limited for this one event... highly recommend signing up for HPDE1 instead.

Agreed, although I don't really enjoy the mental picture of anyone here in a spaghetti strap top... Pretty sure they should leave that at home... :dunno:

If what doesn't fill up? Hyperdrive reg has been full and closed for several weeks, with a long waiting list... we are daylight- and instructor-limited, so HD won't be its own session, it will be run inside a HPDE1 on Saturday.

If you haven't noticed, we have a lot of derps around here who for whatever reason don't read threads or check websites. :dunno:

Re: Summit Point in November - Sully - 10-18-2012

I just wanted to comment, I actually never planned on driving. What do you expect, I drive a Honda.

Next year it is then maybe one event when I'm not officiating

Re: Summit Point in November - Sully - 10-19-2012

No they are broke and always take the cash instead of credit from Laura , and the Tech boys always give me dirty looks when I ask about doing one session with factory roll hoops

Sully Wrote:With the temp, it shouldn't be an issue

PSA: It gets cold there at night in November (duh) and takes a while for the track to warm up/burn off moisture and makes it harder to get tires up to temp... so dont put your car on top of a tire wall at Summit in November like I did

Re: Summit Point in November - Maengelito - 10-22-2012

Hey Jon

Are the scales going to be set up for the TT'ers?
Also, am I to assume that there will be no official Saturday evening party?

Re: Summit Point in November - getfast - 10-22-2012

Tentatively yes @ scales for TTers.

Please assume differently as per the 6pm listing on the posted schedule. ;-) Won't be the size or duration of the usual gathering, but we'll hand out TT awards while getting everyone fed and BEvERaged as best we can...
