Re: The Official Washed and Waxed Thread! - flintster55 - 10-15-2009 Nice man. Is that all liquid glass products? And are you just not planning on driving it for a few days since its supposed to rain forever? Re: The Official Washed and Waxed Thread! - Goodspeed - 10-15-2009 flintster55 Wrote:Nice man. Is that all liquid glass products? And are you just not planning on driving it for a few days since its supposed to rain forever? Thanks, my process was sort of all over the place. Those pics are after: - Meguiars wash concentrate - LG precleaner - LG polish - Armor-all carnuba extreme shine wash - Meguiars Swirl X - Windex on windows/engine bay - Meguiars back to black on trim/engine bay - Meguiars paste wax on wheels - Black magic tire shine I'm gonna hold off on using the LG for a while longer, I'm planning on getting some touchup paint (VIN matched, quality stuff) to repair chips and a few small scratches, then seal it in with some coats of LG. And as for the rain, well, FML . I do have to go to work on Saturday or else it wouldn't leave the garage until the rain stops, so I'll keep my fingers crossed. This is what I do when I'm bored though so I'm always happy to get the ipod going, crack open a beer and start all over again. Re: The Official Washed and Waxed Thread! - xvxax - 10-15-2009 I recommend Duragloss 105/205, you can get it at Carquest off South Main. I believe 105 is an AIO/cleaner and I think 205 is a sealant. Might be backward, but you can apply both by hand and the sealant is pretty deep and lasts well, that's what I used at JMU. Can follow up with your fav. carnuba wax. Re: The Official Washed and Waxed Thread! - ScottyB - 10-16-2009 looks good....if you want to drop the windex for the non-glass stuff get yourself a spray bottle of P21S All Purpose Cleaner. hit your engine bay and wheel wells with it and even use it to preclean the worst stuff on the front. its my favorite general purpose cleaner by far. Re: The Official Washed and Waxed Thread! - Goodspeed - 11-29-2009 65 degrees in November = wash and top down drive  ![]() ![]()
Re: The Official Washed and Waxed Thread! - fiveoh2go - 11-29-2009 Hmm, great minds think alike...cleaned the car up and took it out for some pics this afternoon as I was bored. :| ![]() ![]()

Re: The Official Washed and Waxed Thread! - D_Eclipse9916 - 11-30-2009 Cars look good guys, I think every car guy thinks alike, washed and waxed the m3 sunday, well...somehwat. Didnt have much time so clayed the front fenders, hood, and doors, then waxed. Till I get the time to clay the entire car and LG it. Oh and anyone wondering, back to black has NOTHIN on Forever black, you have to order it, but it is 10 times better than when ive used back to black in terms of length of stay on the plastic. Where can I pick some of this up? I was less than impressed with Back to Black the last time I used it, way too streaky and didn't last long at all. Re: The Official Washed and Waxed Thread! - Goodspeed - 11-30-2009 Back to black doesn't last for crap, but I use it anyway. I've never heard of Forever Black but BlackWow is supposed to be awesome too http://www.autogeek.net/black-wow-trim-restorer.html Re: The Official Washed and Waxed Thread! - D_Eclipse9916 - 12-01-2009 I ordered forever black through amazon and am REALLY liking it soo far. Its also got a nice dispenser that makes it much easier to put on. Requires cleaning with their solution according to them first, but I didnt (even though I have it, didnt have time the first few times). Definitely revived my trim on the m3. It is a non-silicone based product, I dunno if that means anything :dunno: Re: The Official Washed and Waxed Thread! - Madden - 12-02-2009 washed and waxed, new pics courtesy of David ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
Re: The Official Washed and Waxed Thread! - WRXtranceformed - 02-22-2010 Since the snow finally melted off and it's nice and warm, I got the chance to wash my car. I was going to wax it too but I was tired. Some pics I took from my crappy point and shoot camera. Yes, my bumper still needs to be repainted ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
Re: The Official Washed and Waxed Thread! - ScottyB - 02-22-2010 those lights look like they could weld your corneas shut! looks good! the elise makes me very happy as well  Re: The Official Washed and Waxed Thread! - WRXtranceformed - 02-22-2010 Haha thanks Scott! They really aren't as blue as they look in those pictures, they're 4400k or whatever the stock color is but my camera made them look a lot more blue. Im really curious to see how they look with the new lenses, it should really clean up the light output. Re: The Official Washed and Waxed Thread! - kcook - 03-08-2010 Waxed the m for the first time since I got it. This paint is still in great shape! The wheels and tires in the first pic are 17x8.5 Kosei K1s w/ 245/40 AD07s (tire rack closeout). Amazingly they all fit in the M to drop them off at the tire mounting place. ![]() ![]()
