Lug width, and thanks for posting the pic. A 22mm band shouldn't be an issue at all.

Sent in some pics to Veraet, the company that makes some of the best watch / jewelry cleaning solutions and cloths I have found, and the owner emailed me back, gave me a 50% off coupon code for my next order and is mailing me a free T-shirt. Haha awesome

If anyone is interested in picking up some of their products, let me know and I'll shoot that code your way: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="https://www.wristclean.com/">https://www.wristclean.com/</a><!-- m -->

I highly recommend the watch spray, drying cloths and HD5 cloths

Sweet! Sounds like some great customer service! I don't have a dedicated cleaning kit, and maybe I should... I was looking at the Enthusiast Care Kit - do you use most the products in that kit?

Re: Lee's Watch Thread for MM'ers of Impeccable Taste - SlimKlim - 08-08-2017

I just occasionally wash my diver in the sink with dish soap.

....is that bad?

It's definitely worth the purchase! From that kit I have only used the watch spray, HD5 cloth and drying cloths. I don't own any more rubber (that I care about) or leather straps. The brush looked intriguing and I almost bought it, and now wish I had because it would really help clean areas between links that are kind of hard to get to right now. Especially the beads of rice bracelets, they're just difficult to clean. The products themselves were recommended by the Rolex community so I knew they would be top notch, but I've been blown away with how fast / well the spray works and how nice the HD5 cloths keep them looking between cleanings.

Not at all! I definitely recommend at least snatching up some of the HD5 cloths though. They are safe to buff without leaving micro swirls and without using any chemicals somehow put an amazing shine on the metal after you do a thorough wash. I use mine almost every day to remove finger / skin oils off of the polished and matte finishes on my pieces....it's really night and day.

Re: Lee's Watch Thread for MM'ers of Impeccable Taste - Mike - 08-09-2017

Notification came in that a vendor had a single CA53W for $10 shipped. That bitch is mine. You jelly.

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="https://www.amazon.com/Casio-Mens-CA53W-Calculator-Watch/dp/B000GB1R7S">https://www.amazon.com/Casio-Mens-CA53W ... B000GB1R7S</a><!-- m -->

Mostly got it for nostalgia, but my non-calculator $7 Casio gets the most wear and compliments (because Portland). I even lost it once, didn't give a shit, returned after about an hour, and because it's a $7 Casio, it was sitting right where I left it in plain view to hundreds of passerbys.

So retro I love it

Someone link me watches that have hour and minute dials that rotate to show time. For example, the outer hour dial shows 3 at the "north" position and 25 at the same position for a time of 3:25. In other words, a single fixed hand and it's the watch face that keeps time.

Like this, but mechanical (quartz is okay) and a respected brand. Also, it doesn't look shitty like this one does.

Re: Lee's Watch Thread for MM'ers of Impeccable Taste - WRXtranceformed - 08-11-2017

That is really cool and frankly I have not seen too many unconventionally styled watches like that! Most of the time they are super high end and expensive.

If you want to check out some watches with unique timekeeping methods, check out MB&F: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="https://www.mbandf.com/en">https://www.mbandf.com/en</a><!-- m -->

The Alien watch is super crazy (all sapphire case...$$$$$$$):

Whoa....

Got my CWS 2 piece NATO today. After scrounging up 2 T6 Torx bits to remove the stock band.

JMU Football season is among us! So ordered the purple one in 22mm to swap on for game day.

22mm is definitely gonna work for this watch.

I wanna order a black NATO as well.

Re: Lee's Watch Thread for MM'ers of Impeccable Taste - WRXtranceformed - 08-11-2017

That is a bold statement! GO DUKES!

+1 on the black NATO or "Bond" (Black / Grey)

Purple band looks dope!

I am really digging the single hand look. Anyone know anything about MeisterSinger? Looks like sale price is $18xx and the brand doesnt appear on jomashop's site. All the sellers I can find are third party on aggregate sites, including Wal-Mart. That much money for a brand that doesn't have much presence seems like the manufacturer (12 years old) is trying to force prestige with price.

I had to look these up because i hadn't heard of the brand before. It looks like they use proprietary (but not in- house) movements that were developed by a company now under the Christopher Ward umbrella. They have 5 day power reserves which is really impressive but i can't find accuracy specs on them. Judging from the build quality I'm assuming it would be close to if not within COSC specs... the movement alone is something you could really nerd out on.
Other than that, stuff you would expect like sapphire crystal and sapphire display case back. Most of the ones i saw were thousands more than what you mentioned so i think one would be a great buy at the $1800 price point.
The only two challenges i could think of are finding someone local that is qualified to service that movement since it's so uncommon (ie. you're sending it back to the mfgr in Germany and paying them $$$$$$$$$$) and then selling it for anywhere close to what you paid for it if you ever got bored of it. Obscure luxury micro brand watches are either really sought after or really hard to sell... and I've never heard of that one or seen one for sale on WUS. Granted I've never looked for one!

Personally i think some of their models are gorgeous, well priced if you find one at that price point and i want you to buy one so we can nerd out on it together

Re: Lee's Watch Thread for MM'ers of Impeccable Taste - WRXtranceformed - 08-11-2017

BTW i love Worn & Wound reviews. Here's their review on that one you like the Pangaea:

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://wornandwound.com/meistersinger-introduces-the-pangaea-day-date/">http://wornandwound.com/meistersinger-i ... -day-date/</a><!-- m -->

Edit: And reading that review, it looks like the Pangaea has a more pedestrian but fine, accurate and much more serviceable Swiss Selitta movement. You would probably still want to consider shipping that to Germany when it's service time due to the nature of that watch

Agreed!! I love watches with large faces / crystals and minimal case edge showing from the top profile. It gives the watch a really high end look and makes it pop on the wrist

Re: Lee's Watch Thread for MM'ers of Impeccable Taste - Apoc - 08-11-2017

Yeah that black one is kinda ridiculous.

I found a mistake in the review (below). Each hash is 5 min and each elongated is 15 min. This basicallly means you know what time it in within a 5 min window, or a bit more depending on hand position. For some reason that's really appealing to an obsessive person who is trying to take a chill pill. I mean, who needs to know exact minute anyway?

Printed hash markers line the outer rim of the dial for each minute, with elongated and bold indicators each five minutes and numerical markers at each hour. This no frills approach to one-handed time telling, while not innovative or exciting, gets the job done well, and presents a surprisingly usable one handed watch.
