Wrong.

10 minutes after they opened and the place was packed and all 50 employees in the store are punch drunk on the apple [Image: kool.gif]. And they dont have any 'walk in' help. "Sir, you have to go online and make an appointment". whiskey tango foxtrot? Sorry, dont have any appointments today.

I understand the idea of making the appointments so you get a block of time and you dont have to wait, but during the time I was there, there were quite a few people that did not show up for their time spots. So why not leave those open for people that dont have appointments?

Fuck apple and their fucking ass backwards fucking service.

I did play with the ifone, and its pretty slick. Maybe i'll get one when the rush ends.

Thank you for at least understanding the concept of the appointment system. We get so many people all bent out of shape because the appointments "aren't convenient" for them. That's basically why they were implemented.

Regardless, if people weren't showing up for appointments, the concierge on duty (orange shirt) should have offered a standby appointment, where you basically fill in for the no-show. That's how we roll at Fair Oaks and it leads to (mostly) happy customers. Plus, our concierges are all trained on basic iPod diagnostic and service to determine whether you even NEED a bar appointment or not. I can't speak for Clarendon but that's how we do it. Sorry you had bad service.

Oh and Ginger... we would love to be able to give out system restore discs, but we don't have any in-store to give out. That's why we have you call AppleCare instead. Even the Genii who repair Macs don't use discs. They have portable hard drives with restore images on them. Sooo, it's not just a "oh, here's a disc, enjoy" sort of deal. I wish it was, though, because we get that phone call kinda frequently and always have to refer 'em to AppleCare.

Many times it isnt - if you dont have much time to get out if you have family/ridiculous job/kids/harem/etc, or if they dont live near a store and dont know the koolaid system then it sucks to have to go home, and figure out when you can come back. It really is a pain if they dont offer to let you hang around for a bit and wait.

None offered, I even asked. My first question after I got my head wrapped around the koolaid system was "well do you have any open spots for today? maybe I can hang around, or come back" and she had no idea. They had to put my name and email address in so they could try to make an 'appointment' before they could even see what was open - seems assinine to me.

I dont get it, and I dont agree with it, but i'm not Jack either Tongue

Do you try to sell them an OS upgrade instead, or just refer them to Koolaid Care?

- Ginger0 - 07-21-2008

Thanks for the heads up - I'll wait and see what AppleCare does before I get annoyed. I was slightly miffed that the representative tried to upsell her to Leopard without even presenting the option of phoning AppleCare.... but that's a problem with a single person, not a company.

- Mike - 07-21-2008

gingerface, if you tell me the os and type/proc of the machine, i can likely dig up something that may work.... or you could just download leopard for free and quit yer bitching... apple doesn't do copy protection.

meh, I've had great experiences with Apple care and their silly appointments...

- Evan - 07-21-2008

Way to miss the point homey Wink

If I can walk into the store and get the ipod fixed, then it will be pretty damn good. I'm far from a fanboi, but I dont think you'll get anything even close with something you bought at Bestbuy.

Well since you don't own any Best Buy made electronics...

You know what I mean Wink

My Clip came from Best Buy and it sounds better than my iPod... and it doesn't need to be fixed Wink

We present all of their options, so both, I guess. Although it's not so much of a "sell Leopard" as it is "you can come in and purchase Leopard, or call AppleCare and they may be able to help you out for free or close to it."

a dyno application for iPhone and iPod touch

awesome - even if it is wildly inaccurate

- JackoliciousLegs - 07-30-2008

It's probably just as accurate as the other G meters out there...

I will this friday. I hope mine cracks...

I can't stand almost every detail about my Ipod touch... even if these were available for Verizon users I wouldn't even consider it. I know I'd be hella pissed if my phone was damaging itself after I just bought it though!
