- WRXtranceformed - 10-20-2008 Trance Around the World #238 Podcast is uploaded into my folder. I'm not bothering to rename any of the podcasts just fyi. It's a good one so far, I'm just now checking it out! - WRXtranceformed - 10-30-2008 Uploading #239 shortly! - ScottyB - 10-31-2008 WRXtranceformed Wrote:Uploading #239 shortly! these are great shows! thanks man! - Apoc - 10-31-2008 I listened to KSky's Live at Spundae last night in the gym and it was awesome. - WRXtranceformed - 10-31-2008 No prob! Ksky is awesome, I wear those sets out over and over and I never get bored with them. I haven't checked her site for updates in a while, I'm sure she's got a few more that I don't have yet. I was bummed that she never recorded or put up her first DC set, since I can't remember any of it. - WRXtranceformed - 11-05-2008 Uploading #240 now. Should be done before 8. It's got a new Ronski Speed track on it The guest mix is pretty decent too, some new stuff I haven't heard yet.
- ScottyB - 12-10-2008 finally getting around to uploading more stuff. got some Flying Steps up on there....gotta love the 80's b-boy style i have some pretty old ministry of sound/judge jules/creamfields stuff i'm trying to dig up and some other random stuff. the good thing about this is it makes me look through and listen to old stuff i haven't touched in years. Mikey i saw some ronald jenkees in your folder...i love that guy. listening to his music is one thing but you have to watch him play on youtube ("hey there youtubes!" )....that guy is going to be huge someday. - WRXtranceformed - 12-11-2008 Nice Scotty I'll have to check out your folder! This is probably better off in the Sirius/XM thread, but since I've been in the car a lot lately I've had a chance to listen to the new XM dance channels since it merged with Sirius. Unfortunately they just aren't as good as the ones on Sirius when I had it in my old car. Occasionally you'll get a nice pure trance track but for the most part they're still promoting these weird, random DJs who are spinning the really hard hitting, industrial non-melodic EDM. I find myself flicking over to the AUX port and listening to my Ipod more now, or just changing it to one of the comedy channels
- Apoc - 12-11-2008 I moved everything to the master folder so we can start fresh with uploads in everyone's directory. - John - 12-11-2008 WRXtranceformed Wrote:they're still promoting these weird, random DJs who are spinning the really hard hitting, industrial non-melodic EDM. You referring to the one-off tracks or the DJ mixes? I hardly call Markus Schulz, PVD, Oakenfold, etc what you described - they have been the staple underpinnings of today's EDM that you know. I do think they should have merged more of XM radio's performers into the lineup however... - Apoc - 12-11-2008 I can't say I'm a big fan of the new lineup. I mean I love AVB and PVD but it seems like at any given time, I'm going to dislike what Sirius 36 & 38 are playing more than like it since the change. - John - 12-11-2008 Old Sirius 36 sucked a fat one, and 38 was usually pretty good - I don't see much of a change with the new 38 lineup other than the addition of Tiesto. - Apoc - 12-11-2008 John Wrote:Old Sirius 36 sucked a fat one, and 38 was usually pretty good - I don't see much of a change with the new 38 lineup other than the addition of Tiesto. Maybe I should listen 3 hours later than I usually do. I actually don't even know if it's the same program, regardless of time, on both coasts. Is your BBC One time coincident? (Ours is delayed so their 5pm is our 5pm) - John - 12-11-2008 If you want playtimes, go to www.sirius.com/area/ and they're posted in ET. - HAULN-SS - 12-11-2008 I had XM before, and i swear every new channel sucks. On the metal channel, it's like they play so much "radio" metal isntead of the hardcore shit, when 4 channels over, they have like 3 other stations for just taht stuff! Same with the bluegrass channel - mixing in some country, and also, seem to be playing a lot of the old shit..like 50s and 60s. Isnt the point of a radio station to sell records of the people that are listening to them? I doubt the guy that made an album 40 years ago gives a shit if it sells..seems like they'd play more contemporary stuff. - John - 12-12-2008 AnB redid their website and now they have all their sets from #196 available for streaming on their site. - WRXtranceformed - 12-12-2008 John Wrote:I'm talking about their one-off tracks and "resident" djs like DeadmauS? I've never even heard of that DJ. Shit is wizzeak! Even Tiesto's Club Life show is such garbage, that dude is all hype now. I never thought I'd find myself changing the channel when a Tiesto track came on.. that day has come.WRXtranceformed Wrote:they're still promoting these weird, random DJs who are spinning the really hard hitting, industrial non-melodic EDM. Probably 85% of the time I listen to those stations I'm displeased. 95% of the time I turn on etn.fm I'm extremely stoked about the caliber of music they're playing. So that's that. I have discovered a couple of sick new tracks through XM though.. Jes from Motorcycle Boy has a new track out, can't remember the name but it's nasty. I also like these two: Kim Sozzi - Feel Your Love. Yes unfortunately she's a Long Islander but she is definitely hot as balls http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GRMo-MTH4w George Acosta - Fallin Backwards http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L1g4-BQs1_A - John - 12-12-2008 Producing v. DJing are two completely separate animals - very few are good at both. So when you hear a one-off track by a "producer" has very little bearing on how well they "DJ". - WRXtranceformed - 12-12-2008 I'm not talking about actual DJ skills, I'm talking about the quality of the songs they're producing / remixing in general. - John - 12-12-2008 Agree that some producers are putting out junk - then again, I think that Sirius plays some poor choices as well. I usually find myself only listening to their mixes as most of the one-off songs they play during normal hours bore me. |
