What should I do to please the peanut gallery?

Swap in a Dinan tuned s65, 6spd, and paint it brown?

It seems, to me, you're doing exactly what you need to please the peanut gallery.

I mean, you wouldnt want the coolant from the head gasket from getting it wet

I literally exhaled with slightly more than average force

Won't the water pump blow off of these newer motors before the HG has time to fail? Or does the pump take the HG down on its way out?

RJ has made me so paranoid im scared to even change it to Map 1.

I did open the box, and this appears to have the newer "water resistant" plastic housing.

May still upgrade to the billet aluminum water proof box.

The water pump is electric and located down low, so it won't damage the ZiplocTuner when it pisses coolant everywhere.

If this were an old Forester set of head gaskets, though, all bets would be off.

#ziploctuner needs to be a thing

example: #iwenttocollege so i didn't have to be a #ziploctuner

Jambag, get this done - https://www.dinancars.com/product/d440-1632-st1-d-tronics-performance-tuner-stage-1-for-bmw-f30-328i-f10-528i-n20-ewg/?series=&mid=328i%20xDrive/

Its a real ecu tune, not something that modifies ecu signals with no safety protections.

MM alumni getting softer everyday. Track posts are mostly ignored while a BMW wagon with a tuner in a zip loc bag to protect it is ZOMG!

RE: Project: AWD Turbo Family Hauler (PART DEUX) - SlimKlim - 05-08-2019

RJ stop talking

Project: AWD Turbo Family Hauler (PART DEUX) - JustinG - 05-08-2019

Now i don't know what to do..... The Dinan attaches using Velcro.

Buy Dinan, ignore velcro, and put a zip loc bag around it.

RE: Project: AWD Turbo Family Hauler (PART DEUX) - .RJ - 05-08-2019

dont put your head in the zip loc bag

RE: Project: AWD Turbo Family Hauler (PART DEUX) - Apoc - 05-08-2019

Have you considered just plastidipping it?

Track days were SOOO 15 years ago. Giving people shit for mods to their bougie DD is where it's at now.

Well it's clear you haven't because the JB4 has a lot of safety protections built in and will flip to a passthrough map if the boost threshold is exceeded or something goes fucky with the fuel pressure/AFR. But by all means keep insisting he spend another $1k to do it "properly" from the designer brand tuning shop.

RE: Project: AWD Turbo Family Hauler (PART DEUX) - .RJ - 05-08-2019

And it still does it through modifying signals rather than ECU code.

Everyone's free to do what they want and I'm sure a lot of people have just fine results from the t00ner box. I just dont agree with the way they do it. My $.02. When I buy an Alltrack I'll be getting the APR tune, maybe spending more money helps me sleep easier at night.
