I was gonna say "We play by the rules" but yeah that works too. If you think Lu is natty you are straight out your goddam mind:
Re: Electile Dysfunction (Current students plz look!) - JPolen01 - 07-19-2017 Wait - you are telling me it isn't natural for your back to look like that? The look is just a question of bodyfat%. But a 77kilo lifter snatching 177 kilos isn't diet and training. I was just reading a bunch of threads on whether getting a patent on something is even worth it anymore. I have a patent (with other contributors), and it is flat out worthless. (Even though I've seen the idea stolen at least 3 times in the very industry I work in) Apple/Google/Facebook/Samsung can't even enforce them, much less small time players. Seriously? :evileye: Oh no the big bad robots are going to take my job  There will be other jobs needed, skills will have to adapt to new jobs emerging, people who embrace the future will survive while others who are so afraid of actually changing with the tide will be left in the dust. That's just the way it works and has been for a very long time. The biggest issue with the current president is how short sighted he is and how it will actually hurt us long term from an economic standpoint. Setting up the nation to not adapt to what is needed or will be needed in the future will further so weaken us even more and make us less competitive. So, to follow up what Lee said, yes it is a threat in the way that if we have political leaders that are near-sighted, profit-focused, big business, coal jobs, etc. it will put us behind as mentioned. It'll be like coal jobs, only every manufacturing job... and then some. It won't directly impact us white collar workers, but it will shrink blue collar opportunities. The eventual result could be higher unemployment and poverty rates, which could have a big impact on the taxes we pay. So, yeah, it matters enough not to be sarcastic about it. Re: Electile Dysfunction (Current students plz look!) - Ken - 07-26-2017 So... check this out. John McCain, fresh off his tax payer funded healthcare surgery, gets off his hospital bed and flies back to DC to vote for a debate on healthcare that will ostensibly remove said healthcare for a large swath of United States citizens (nice!). THEN - he clambers up on his soap box to give some self aggrandizing, grandiose speech about how this has been gone about the wrong way. Republicans have been hiding in rooms and creating a bill that is no good, that they need to reach across the aisle and work together (yay, unity!) and that he WILL NOT vote for the healthcare bill as it stands. THEN - THIS MOTHERFUCKER VOTES FOR THAT BILL. http://www.gq.com/story/john-mccain-voted-for-the-bill-he-said-he-would-not-vote-for America, everybody, America. This fuck is the embodiment of what is wrong with our politics today, for both sides of the aisle. This had everything - selfishness, self importance, hypocrisy and just general douchiness. Re: Electile Dysfunction (Current students plz look!) - JPolen01 - 07-26-2017 Wow. I forgot to look into that. Man this sucks. I kind of sort of like him, but this is enough to completely decide I don't. What a piece of shit to sit on his high horse and preach like that and then do the complete opposite. Almost like what a career politician would do! The best tweet I saw said something like "McCain is a veteran so he should get treatment at the Phoenix VA. Unless that is not up to his standards" (tweeted by a veteran). Re: Electile Dysfunction (Current students plz look!) - *insertusernamehere* - 07-26-2017 As to why McCain is allowed anywhere in public still, I do not know. Stick him in a god damn nursing home, his time has passed. Time to relax and reflect. That guy needs to for real just go away Re: Electile Dysfunction (Current students plz look!) - Apoc - 07-26-2017 Ken Wrote:So... check this out. Except, no. He voted for the motion to continue the debate, not the actual bill. His statement that he wouldn't vote for it in it's current form is still valid. *insertusernamehere* Wrote:As to why McCain is allowed anywhere in public still, I do not know. Stick him in a god damn nursing home, his time has passed. Time to relax and reflect. I hope you don't know or will know someone with brain cancer. It's a terrible fucking disease and the only thing most people want is to live their normal life. Saying he should be relegated to a nursing home to relax and reflect is immature and selfish. I am most definitely NOT a McCain fan, but show some respect for a man who was tortured for 5+ years in service of his country. He should be allowed to carry on like normal at who's expense? Ours? Why? Because he has cancer? I'm sure he can give speeches at a college or somewhere still and be given purpose. Jesus. That is truly splitting hairs my friend. While it was a budgetary measure he voted in favor of, it was very clearly a vote either "for" or "against" BCRA. See: 9 other republicans vote against it (even though there initially only two against.) This just further proves my point of what is wrong with politics, the ability to hide behind some bullshit rationale and people like you just nod and accept it.
