Re: Project: Integra Type Dickbutt - Kaan - 07-07-2015

I have one can of UG left... I might use it on the calipers that are rusting Undecided

Re: Project: Integra Type Dickbutt - .RJ - 07-07-2015

1) this is stupid

2) seal up the radiator opening all the around a and duct it back to the amigo vents if you insist on doing this

Re: Project: Integra Type Dickbutt - Kaan - 07-07-2015

1. its been found to be very beneficial for derps to vent their hoods

2. I'm going to seal up the front core support but I probably wont duct it. stop being a racist

Re: Project: Integra Type Dickbutt - .RJ - 07-07-2015

If you dont duct it the air may not go where you want it to go....

Re: Project: Integra Type Dickbutt - Mike - 07-07-2015

this/that is fucking terrible. racecar by vatozone.

Re: Project: Integra Type Dickbutt - Kaan - 07-07-2015

all you guys see is a flat piece of aluminum

Those are ricey as fuck. Can't you get a cool looking one like Dj had on his e36?

Re: Project: Integra Type Dickbutt - BLINGMW - 07-07-2015

What's the recommended procedure for measuring underhood temps?

And, what's normal/hot/problem temps?

Sometimes I'd like to know-- but it seems that what I/you really want to know is a few key components, air intake, maybe alternator case temp, ECU and other electronics, battery, and I'd want to know when the car is moving. So, doesn't seem that super easy, though I do have some temperature loggers sitting right here that could tell me. But then I still don't know what's outside of "normal", and I imagine this varies quite a lot by make/model. :dunno:

needs more NHRA pro stock scoop

some people look at the intake temp readings on the ECU, some people place metal bits in the bay specifically to measure, some people measure random spots in the engine (that's what I did).

I'm seeing 240+ in the engine bay, specifically the frame rail between the header and radiator. the frame rail I hit with the infrared was at least 6 inches away from the radiator and 10 inches from the header. the header is already wrapped. that seems like WAY too much to me. this coupled with my 260 degree oil temps make me feel I need to try to evacuate the air in the engine bay.

sorry I still don't have any camber kits or exposed lips on my rimz.

the "cool" looking one like DJ had (on his DSM anyway) works so well (at moving air out) it causes crazy amounts of turbulent air (that's not a good thing on the front of the car). the best non turbulent vent is the old school hot rod hand hammered louvers... this aluminum bit is a happy medium of all the right aerodynamic pieces.

Re: Project: Integra Type Dickbutt - Kaan - 07-07-2015

I also don't have the factory under tray on the car, the front bumper mounts for the under tray have been damaged from 240k miles of abuse and the front bumper itself should probably be replaced since the lower portion of the bumper has seen so much heat that it has curled down. I zip tied the crap out of them to be flat again lol

Re: Project: Integra Type Dickbutt - rherold9 - 07-07-2015

Kaan just slap the wing you have on and these vents along with a widebody and call it a day.

Re: Project: Integra Type Dickbutt - WRXtranceformed - 07-07-2015

Why not buy an aftermarket vented hood? Then you don't have to cut into your perfectly good one, you will probably save some weight, and it would look way better

Re: Project: Integra Type Dickbutt - Kaan - 07-07-2015

this is the part of the underside of the front bumper that has curled. I'm sure its from years of the under tray being gone.

this is 1/10th the price of an aftermarket hood. Smile

widebody is not HC legal

No need to worry about HC. The goal is F&F derp now.

that's actually not the goal. go pick up subscription to racecar engineering and read up for the next 5 years.
