Re: Automotive News Discussion - Sully - 06-13-2014 JPolen01 Wrote:I agree with you completely, Lee. Musk is a smart guy ultimately driven by his need to help save the world via clean energy.Wait a minute. I just realized I've hit my knee on the s2k key during an autocross and shut the car off. I haven't really been following this but are the gm's just too sensitive and easy to turn off and thats the issue? Also, I feel like this is a highly Americanized problem has many other countries have higher scrutiny driving exams and don't let anyone with their head up their ass behind the wheel. They actually teach them evasive manuevers and what to do when skidding on a skid pad and such. I guess it's hard to turn the key back on when you're trying to post to Facebook that your car just shut off while going 70 mph Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk Re: Automotive News Discussion - G.Irish - 06-13-2014 No this issue is the ignition randomly shutting off while the car is cruising along without anyone touching the key. EDIT: NM I was wrong. It does require a bump Re: Automotive News Discussion - rherold9 - 06-13-2014 I'm kind of confused on what the key looks like when the car is running. Mine looks like this "/" top slanted right, so if my knee were to hit it it maybe it wouldnt turn off because the angle it is at? Idk. What does the key on the s2k look like when it is running? Re: Automotive News Discussion - SlimKlim - 06-13-2014 Sounds like Saab had it right all along:
Re: Automotive News Discussion - Evan - 06-13-2014 JPolen01 Wrote:Tesla will now be open source. No no no no no. Quote:Musk announced that they will remove all of their patents to advance electric car technology. Very interesting and a bold move on their part. http://jalopnik.com/tesla-motors-all-ou ... 1589971589opening (not defending) patents is NOT "open source" its also not "in the spirit of the open source movement" and Elon Musk is smart enough to know that. and idiot journalists see trendy techie terms that they dont understand and parrot them all over headlines. open source would be "we are going to publish all of our research, development, technical data, parts specifications, methods and manufacturing now and in the future and anyone can use it royalty and license free" they arent doing that. at all. they just arent going after you if the tech you develop happened to have been developed by them first. dont get me wrong, its cool as shit, and will help the industry move forward. (it just aint open source) Re: Automotive News Discussion - .RJ - 06-13-2014 Smart move by Tesla.... if bigger mfr's are spurred on to build more EV's, then there's more EV infrastructure, which means more Tesla sales.... and then Musk can sell the company and cash out again. Re: Automotive News Discussion - ScottyB - 06-13-2014 3500 lbs for a manual ecoboost stang ![]() well that's not terrible! Re: Automotive News Discussion - JPolen01 - 06-16-2014 Charger could possibly get the Hellcat Package...and be the most powerful sedan on the market. http://jalopnik.com/600-horsepower-dodg ... 1591520361 Re: Automotive News Discussion - rherold9 - 06-17-2014 Paint your intercooler's black, people: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1QL9veQaNg#t=653 Re: Automotive News Discussion - JPolen01 - 06-17-2014 ![]() http://jalopnik.com/the-2015-alfa-romeo ... 822650/all Re: Automotive News Discussion - ScottyB - 06-19-2014 rherold9 Wrote:Paint your intercooler's black, people: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1QL9veQaNg#t=653 its funny, old antique cars often had black painted exhuast manifolds. black soaks up heat very quickly but also radiates it very quickly, much quicker than white paint so in effect it cools the surface better. http://www.gcsescience.com/pen10-matt-black.htm Re: Automotive News Discussion - JustinG - 06-24-2014 SUBARRRRUUUUUUU!!!!! WHY YOU NO GIVE ME THIS IN MURICA!!!!! Stupid name though the LEVORG - I always see Les Orgy Although it would probably only be offered with the CVT trans on a GT version. ![]() It looks like when I decide to replace the Fozzy I am gonna have to go german...... Re: Automotive News Discussion - Evan - 06-24-2014 Blame america, not Subaru. Re: Automotive News Discussion - SlimKlim - 06-24-2014 If you want a fast AWD wagon thing with a stick I think you're SOL across the board anyway. The F30 doesn't come in a stick, neither does the A4 all road thing. In fact the only one I can think of is the new Golf Wagon that will allegedly be sold here with AWD, a stick and a turbo starting next year. Re: Automotive News Discussion - .RJ - 06-24-2014 The golf R wagon will be $40k.... Re: Automotive News Discussion - SlimKlim - 06-24-2014 I mean the Golf Sportwagen, not the Golf R, although the Golf R would be comparable in price to an F30 or A4 All Road and with the exception of cargo room, blow them out of the water. http://blogs.cars.com/kickingtires/2014/04/2015-volkswagen-golf-sportwagen-first-look.html I don't know if they've confirmed an AWD option yet, they might just be cockteasing us, but if they do it would be the AWD, manual, diesel station wagon every enthusiast has wanted since forever. It might even come in brown. Re: Automotive News Discussion - Evan - 06-24-2014 one is a Passat and one is a Golf? just guessing.
