Jesus, that's worse than I thought. - Mike - 10-08-2007 Andy Wrote:Mike Wrote:2080/140 = 14.8lbs/hp... nothing very impressive. Shit, that's worse than a new Civic Si. Ought to do gearing calculations. I think that explains the equality of Maeng and I at top speed (that's all I'm really concerned about). At the top of the gear, I'm making 110whp w/ a .96:1 ratio so that comes to 105.6hp to the ground. I'd have to know his exact power at the top of the gear, but I'll also assume his drops off, but not as much (could very well be flawed). If his 108 peak drops to 105 w/ his 1:1 ratio, 105.6=105. Explained! Now I need to figure out if it's smarter for me to shift in to 5th (silly long gear) at 6500rpms (before the power drops off) or not... My 5th is .71:1. I think my math is wrong so please correct me... 1/.96 * 6500 = 6770 (my 1:1 rpms at the shift point) 6770 * .71 = 4800 (where the shift will drop my revs to) At 4800rpms, I'm at about the same power as fuel cut. Sooo I guess staying in 4th until fuel cut will provide the same results as a shift so I might as well save shift time and not do it. - .RJ - 10-08-2007 Get a good transmission
- Mike - 10-08-2007 .RJ Wrote:Get a good transmission ITR w/ LSD! New or not new? 1700 or 1200? Guaranteed mint or potentially dealing with idiots? Edit: Hrm, didn't realize the ratios were the same as a B16 tranny. You know of any difference aside from the optional LSD? - .RJ - 10-08-2007 Ratios are the same... B16 + OEM ITR LSD ($200)... you'll need the ITR final drive gear off the diff too, but you really dont need a diff. - Mike - 10-08-2007 I'd like a diff while I'm in there. It's not going to hurt anything. Why would I need the final drive as well? They're both 4.4. - .RJ - 10-08-2007 Mike Wrote:I'd like a diff while I'm in there. It's not going to hurt anything. Its not worth much time on track with the engine you have, and leaving the transmission sealed, assembled as Soichiro intended is a good thing ![]() Mike Wrote:Why would I need the final drive as well? They're both 4.4. The ring gear from the b16 wont bolt up to the ITR diff - the bolt spacing is different... why? I have no idea. - Mike - 10-08-2007 Hrmph. Ok, so anyway I did my math wrong. Apparently 123 w/ 15% parasitic loss = 145 crank hp. That's not half bad! - Maengelito - 10-08-2007 Mike Wrote:So the hatch received a lot of attention this week: washing, compounding, waxing, vacuuming, and some touchup... I even cleaned the engine bay... 15 years of grime is a HUGE BITCH. She looks great now (compared to how she was). I still need to Line-X the trunk area... navin Wrote:Project Hatch v.2 > v.1 Mike Wrote:hurray for your show car! fucking ass, this is mike's thread! - Mike - 10-08-2007 hey, fuck you! quit shitting up MY thread. - navin - 10-08-2007 maeng Wrote:fucking ass, this is mike's thread! :?: :?: Mike - where did you get your car dynoed at and how much was it if you dont mind me asking.. - Mike - 10-08-2007 dryft, part of the car show, $35. - Mike - 10-08-2007 hrm hrm hrm http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/pts/443342977.html - WRXtranceformed - 10-08-2007 That's about the cheapest dyno pulls w/ A/F ratios I've ever seen. That sounds like a good idea. Can I recommend my broker? He's based out of Nigeria. - HAULN-SS - 10-08-2007 Hrmm..i didnt realize that p/w was with crank power ratios? hrmm x-x(.15) = 230 for the ss = 270crank ~3500/270 = 12.9 neat - Evan - 10-08-2007 "has never been used" also means deniability they knew it was busted before selling - navin - 10-08-2007 There are a couple of ITR trans. for sale on honda-tech in the MD/DC/VA area. - Mike - 10-08-2007 HAULN-SS Wrote:Hrmm..i didnt realize that p/w was with crank power ratios? hrmm x-x(.15) = 230 for the ss = 270crank ~3500/270 = 12.9 well, it doesn't really matter... just as long as you're calculating all p/w ratios with the same figure. - Mike - 10-26-2007 Just installed some blingin' tow hooks (Benen) and received a new used harness to replace my passenger one that it pretty old. |
