- ScottyB - 05-04-2006 needs more VTEC looks good man, now go smote some H4 cars - .RJ - 05-04-2006 Ugh. Pulled valve cover off to check the valve adjustment because I had one that was making a little noise.... checked them all, and 2 of them I couldnt get in adjustment, and while breaking loose the locknuts on 2 of them they flew out of their 'home' under the cams. So I pulled the cams, and put in another set of rocker arms I had laying around. Put cams and timing belt back on, Readjust valves, all is well. Took it for a test drive around the neighborhood and I think I pissed a few people off - it sounds pretty angry
- .RJ - 05-04-2006 I'm going to get out my voodoo doll and do some sort of ritual to get rid of Raceaflais (the Greek god of Racing Chaos)
- .RJ - 05-04-2006 In case any of you thought i was kidding - I need to put him in the racecar.... you punt me, and Jobu is coming for your ass. - Evan - 05-04-2006 thats some wierd shit dude. stay away from the funkiness - .RJ - 08-31-2006 Overdue update....... The car ran great at CMP after the new head, taking the win both days. Next event, at hyperfest in July as most of you know, my engine a splode. Well, not literally - I dropped a valve while leading the race (:mad and limped to the finish in 3rd place. This is the end result - bent valve, trashed head, and the tiny nick on the piston (bore on the right in the pic) I think the shortblock is ok, so I will keep using it. I picked up another head at VIR, and I'll be taking it back to the guy that did my head work along with the busted head - hopefully I can work something out as far as getting the new one prepped. Since hyperfizzle the car's primary use has been as an expensive storage shelf, last week I pulled some excess wiring out, the a/c condenser under the dash and the spare tire and passenger seat/belts are out - I'll be putting lead on the floorboard to make weight instead. With the interior out, time to repaint the cage - Universal GoldÔäó represent! Looks good, but I am never painting a cage again...... too much hassle. Once I get another head on it will be back to the dyno before the NASA race in october so I can take 2 more race wins . Aaaaaaaand then... no plans, that will be the last event of the year for me. I may run SCCA next year with the car, I may run some NASA races, I may do nothing at all, race karts, race motorcycles, or sell it and buy a Spec Miata. I'll figure it out at some point. Anyone want to buy an integra?
- Chris - 08-31-2006 cage looks great! the revolving door opens again... but I think you should keep it. - ScottyB - 08-31-2006 nice work dude. don't tell me you're ditching this project that fast...i want to see you dominate a few more seasons in it - Jeff - 08-31-2006 very sexy - PDenbigh - 09-01-2006 The cage turned out better than I had pictured (no offence). It really looks good! The contrast is very effective.! - Andy - 09-01-2006 Wait, did you paint the shifter gold too? Mon Deux. - .RJ - 09-01-2006 Its my.... goldmember Huhu... - .RJ - 09-01-2006 Next week i'm going to clean up and repaint the floor of the car, put the dash/seats back in, and hopefully get some lead from Piper also... who wants to help
- Jeff - 09-01-2006 Wish I could get up there to help... What day would you be doing it? (and where do you live exactly) - Evan - 09-01-2006 PDenbigh Wrote:The cage turned out better than I had pictured (no offence). It really looks good! The contrast is very effective.he already knew it was gonna look good! ![]() ![]() UG <3 4Everrr!! - .RJ - 09-01-2006 TurboOmni08 Wrote:What day would you be doing it? (and where do you live exactly) "Whenever" day... no hurry. I live in vienna. Probably not worth the drive from h-b-g to bask in the glow of all things busted that is my house. - .RJ - 12-04-2006 Well, I suppose this is the last entry in this thread... the car left on a trailer last night to its new owner in California. I'm not really sad, because I'm moving on to other things. I learned alot building this car, I had a lot of fun with it and I dont regret the sale at all. I hope the new owner is as fast as I am ![]() I had one last project on the car to do before the car sold, other than give it a once over. The new owner wanted to keep the stock flywheel in the car, so out comes the 9 lb Toda bling... no problem right? Transmission out in an hour or so by myself, but... I dont have an alignment tool. Sockets and duct tape to the rescue ![]() I also had to put the window back in for shipping... but I had no way to secure it other than putting the window regulator back in it. No problem, other than all the wiring is gone. Taking a page from Chris' prep... The Pile of spares: Boxed up, and in the car: Closure - Jeff - 12-04-2006
- Feersty - 12-04-2006 Congrats on getting it out. How did you coordinate everything? - .RJ - 12-04-2006 I didnt The buyer took care of all that stuff. I just was home for the pickup.
