With my luck the out of warranty 911 would explode its engine and I have a $15k paperweight.

“The car went to the dealer 3 weeks ago for a wiring recall behind the glove box/under the dash so that's a possibility that something got reassembled incorrectly. “

This.

LOL WUT?

Remind me to sell the f31 in 2yrs, so I don't have to deal with this hot garbage.

RE: Project: Space Wagon - .RJ - 01-23-2019

They couldnt get any faults other than comm errors and didnt see any chafed/broken wiring so they unplugged each module one by one, reset the faults and saw if they came back. With the TPMS unplugged the comm faults didnt come back... they're pretty certain thats it and mine wouldnt be the first one to fail.

If i buy an F31 its getting the longest warranty I can buy. The $2500 in repairs this year would have paid for most of a warranty.

You know how much my repairs were on the Jag, other than pothole-related damage?  $0

Those XFRs took a HUGE depreciation hit.  Heard the dash cover warping is a big issue but other than that they are pretty darn solid.  That said, you can find nice ones in the teens :0

Who still lusts after getting an XKR/XJR....

RE: Project: Space Wagon - ScottyB - 01-23-2019

there's a nice 8th gen Si for sale in the Sandbox

this is turning into the automotive equivalent of battered spouse syndrome

They sure did, ton of value for how nice they are based on what you can probably buy them for now.  The guy that bought my car locally from the other guy I sold it to down in Greenville says it's still running like a champion and he's had no issues with it...and he's been driving it back and forth to Florida.

The dash leather bubbling was an issue in hot climates because of the glue they used.  Some people had aftermarket leather places take care of it for cheap or the dealership at a few grand a pop, but I just used a sun shade any time I had it parked outside and never had any issues.  The only big thing that would give me concern was whether or not one under consideration had the E-Diff recall done.  I had it done under warranty because it was a known defect from the factory for the 2010s, it was a slight judder under low acceleration while turning from a stop.  No issues after that though....if I needed it done out of warranty it would have been probably $5500+ repair

The transmission and motor are pretty much bullet proof though!

Too bad its a coupe.  I think this is the point where i tap out, though.  I just dont know where to go from here.

Give me as much shit as you want I still enjoy driving a manual. Maybe I need to just go back to owning 2 cars again, or in the summer I can walk/bike/scooter/vintage motorcycle around everywhere.

RE: Project: Space Wagon - JPolen01 - 01-23-2019

This is where you go buy a 2.0T Sport Accord manual. No hatchback but the trunk is big enough for at least 3 dead hookers.

RE: Project: Space Wagon - .RJ - 01-23-2019

but what if I cut them up?

Yeah, but then you drive an Accord... like my mom and grandmother in the 80s and 90s

Did you own them out of warranty though? (with the exception of your Porsche you never drive)  Your GTI has less than 10k miles on it right?  Cool
