Re: The Blue Phoenix - E46 325i - Sully - 04-07-2016 I feel most of the alumni who came, probably weren't feeling the open door wild rager with college kids type of party that you turned it into. I can't really speak for them but a mm and friends only party may have drawn a better turnout. Just my two cents. Also, I doubt many would show up anyways. They're old. As far as the car goes. I have no comment. It wasn't a wild rager when I planned it, but I realized none of you were coming, so I changed it. Why plan a party for people who aren't coming? Every year, less alums come and we end up with a party with like 15 people at it. Re: The Blue Phoenix - E46 325i - rherold9 - 04-07-2016 Derp. I was just focused on the PCV discussion. Is it not completely obvious that Alumns (and their wives) are not interested in going to a college party anymore? You all brag about breaking things, getting stupid drunk and making bad decisions. Great, just what I needed to encourage my wife or I to go. It's fun when you are the drunk bad decision making person, it's not so much fun to DEAL with them sober or a couple drinks in. Been there, done that, don't need to relive it. Actually the party wasn't bad as usual. It was just near the end some asshole(s) decided to break the deck. No one noticed until after it happened. Other than that the party was pretty relaxed with dancing and such. Just ask Jake, I think he had a good time. I'm not even bother about going further with this. The people who come have fun, the people who feel they are above coming to a party I throw for them just miss out on a good time. We don't even know if the stuff was broken at the party, since the the back of my house faces a street. Re: The Blue Phoenix - E46 325i - WRXtranceformed - 04-08-2016 This thread is like the MM soap opera, big fan, big fan. Once the engine cover is off of my truck, you can literally grab all of the PCV hoses and valves with your fist from the top. This car really does look great even for just a 325i. It'll be tough to sell it but I just need to remember what it's like when it's not running well. James let me drive his NB on our PTC and it was amazing even though I did not fit at all and accidentally slammed the brake and clutch with my left foot. I forgot how small they really were and just how uncomfortable I am in a miata. Definitely going to put some thought into what I get next because of that. Then in BMW fashion my right tail light, turn signal, and reverse light went out when leaving dinner. Sent from my SM-G900R4 using Tapatalk Re: The Blue Phoenix - E46 325i - Senor_Taylor - 04-29-2016 The train keeps-a-rollin'. Common E46 problem is where the ground burns out on the passenger tail light causing loss of all lights except running lights on that side. After I bought it from Chan, I noticed it had the problem, but the lights would come back on immediately, only leaving the OBC warning on the dash. Recently (as in this week), the tail light started completely going out. There is a recall out for it, but I don't have the time or resources to get it done, so I implemented a simple DIY. Notice the BMW simplicity. I wonder which one is the bad ground? Pulled the pin out, stripped it, added a jumper and a spade connection, tidied it up with some heat shrink and plugged the spade connector into the weird bulb holder. Boom, problem solved. Re: The Blue Phoenix - E46 325i - V1GiLaNtE - 04-29-2016 Now light it on fire and erase this car from your memory. Re: The Blue Phoenix - E46 325i - Senor_Taylor - 05-11-2016 I have someone coming to look at the car on Friday night in Harrisonburg. Of course, I drove the car 100 miles back home to Lynchburg for the week and naturally the driveline started making clunking noises. Since I drove the car and not my truck, I don't have any tools at all or anywhere to work on this thing, so now I'm calling around to shops that I can limp the car to, trying to see if they'll even work on a BMW. I have a feeling I might not have done the CSB right or the new CSB has failed, because I heard a whining at highway speeds NOT coming from the motor, then I started getting an occasional clunk on the bottom of the car like before. |
