Yes. A Ranger is "small' to me. The new F-150s are pretty big. I was pretend-shopping Ford trucks a little while back, though, and can't believe the V6 4x4 Ranger is rated at towing 5,760 pounds. I'd play the "go big or go home" card and get a F-150 if I were buying.
And really, a new Toyota truck? Meh. The old Toyos (like late 80s/early 90s) were cool, but the new ones are just so damn boring. Like everything else they make. If I want a t-r-u-c-k, then dammit I'm buying 'Murrican.

Hell an early 3.0 v6 X5 can tow 5000lbs. Decent gas mileage and decent towing, fairly reliable. I was considering an X5 4.8is but then I found out X5 V8s like to grenade transmissions at 80k miles. Hell a 4runner, pathfinder, tacoma are all great trucks for towing an open trailer and car. And wayyyy more practical as a daily driver than a tundra or f250 or the likes. I go back and forth everyday about what I want as my tow vehicle when I sell the gsx as there are plenty of "good" options, you just gotta find the one for you.
