thats a sharp van.

i wonder how well they'd do as shuttlers. if they can keep up with have the AC constantly blasting that would be ideal right? most of those airport shuttles do about 300 miles a day?

RE: Automotive News Discussion - Kaan - 08-20-2019

saw my first in real life black on black on black on black on black on black on black on black ITS MURRDAAAA supra yesterday... SO MUCH WANT

too bad Mike Young ruined it for me on Saturday by telling me the only thing he saw (while detailing the crap out of one... FYI get some clear wrap behind the front wheels apparently) that was a Toyota part on the car was the badge and body panels...

"even all the switches and vents on the inside were stolen from some M BMW"

It will be cool to see on the road and at cars and coffee. But this gets me about as excited as a new Bugatti.  If I am able to afford something in this bracket ($120 - $140k?) it definitely won't be an Audi wagon.

Yeah, it's 100% a BMW with Toyota badging and perhaps suspension tuning, and is assembled by Magna Steyr in Austria. It uses BMW buttons, steering wheel, key, iDrive, and "blungggg" noises. Very disappointing given Toyota has Lexus (and thus tons of options for interiors) and this is their flagship product.

It will, of course, drive well because it's a BMW, but it's too parts-bin-BMW to get me super pumped.

I still don't understand why they didn't use either the RC or LC platforms for that car.

I would imaging the BMW platform is worlds better than whatever floppy shit Lexus is making. I have zero issues with what Toyota did. Do I wish I they manage to build an amazing 100% Toyota Supra? Yes. Do I think it would have ever happened? No.

Fair point,  but at least it would be an authentic floppy wet turd.

RE: Automotive News Discussion - Kaan - 08-27-2019

Generations 1-2... maybe a 3rd gen if you count gen 1 as the celica supra... all Toyota. this last one, all BMW. if I wanted a BMW I'd go to the BMW dealer.

Would you have bought one if it was all Toyota?

we have been in the market for a street car. life with two 4wds makes road trips pricey.

RE: Automotive News Discussion - JPolen01 - 08-27-2019

A friend of mine just bought a Launch Edition Supra. Black on Red. Takes delivery end of this week. I'll report back on his initial impressions.

tell him to take it straight to a place to get the clear film shield put on behind the rear wheels. might as well do the front too... Shine and Line did a 5k mile Supra and it had REALLY bad chipping behind the front wheel.

RE: Automotive News Discussion - WRXtranceformed - 08-30-2019

Anyone see the new TL Type-S hype video?

https://www.acura.com/future-vehicles/type-s-concept

Dare I say it looks better than the new Supra?

Automotive News Discussion - Sully - 08-30-2019

Yea but like is that what we're actually going to get. Says concept granted it's pretty tame for a true concept but the Supra concept was so sexy and then we got... Well we all know what we got. This is definitely a good looking hopefully somewhat reasonably priced 4 door sports car

RE: Automotive News Discussion - G.Irish - 08-30-2019

I thought the Supra concept was kinda awkward and disjointed, the production version was a bit better IMO. I'm sure the TLX production model will be toned down, but I think it'll still be pretty good looking.
