- Evan - 07-11-2008 yet still no copy and paste  - Evan - 07-11-2008 <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.forbes.com/technology/2008/06/20/iphone-disappointment-features-tech-wireless08-cx_bc_0620iphone.html?feed=rss_popstories">http://www.forbes.com/technology/2008/0 ... popstories</a><!-- m --> Jack you're camping out right now arent you.... - .RJ - 07-11-2008 Evan Wrote:http://www.forbes.com/technology/2008/06/20/iphone-disappointment-features-tech-wireless08-cx_bc_0620iphone.html?feed=rss_popstories I only count 1 'disappointment' in that list (cut and paste). The rest are just fishing for something to hate on. Flash should be banned anyways. hrug:
- Evan - 07-11-2008 you do know that youtube and all the video sites use Flash for the videos, right? voice dialing is downright necessary for any phone without a real keypad, thats surprising. and non replacable batteries is and always has been retarded. my phone batteries go out after about a year and a half. i guess apple expects all their iSheep to buy the new $3,122 phone then.... - .RJ - 07-11-2008 I've never replaced a battery or used voice dialing :dunno: - Apoc - 07-11-2008 .RJ Wrote:I've never replaced a battery or used voice dialing :dunno: You're also don't use your phone for business. I haven't used either function but my ex-step-dad (wow) used to carry 2 extra batteries because he was always on conference calls and needed a quick replacement while on the road. I think it's likely to be a great personal phone if you don't mind the soft keyboard but it ain't a business phone... yet. - .RJ - 07-11-2008 Apoc Wrote:You're also don't use your phone for business Not exclusively, no, but I still do - its the number on my business card and what I use for 99% of work conference calls. No issue with battery life. I cant imagine spending so much time on the phone that you'd burn through a fullly charged battery in a day. I think i'd rather just blow my head off instead. - Ginger0 - 07-11-2008 I needed a replacement battery on the jersey turnpike last weekend, fwiw. Just 'cause RJ doesn't need it, doesn't mean it's not feasible that other people don't ![]() Voice dialing is probably something that most people should have... they're rather dangerouns when looking at the phone keypad instead of the road. - G.Irish - 07-11-2008 Evan Wrote:you do know that youtube and all the video sites use Flash for the videos, right?Shit. Better? - .RJ - 07-11-2008 Ginger Wrote:I needed a replacement battery on the jersey turnpike last weekend Did you charge your battery before you left? Shoulda used some of the 8,000 wattttttzzzzz your free willy bike alternator puts out ![]() Apoc Wrote:Imagine a 7 figure salary. Better? Getting warmer. What about the concubines and illicit drugs? - JustinG - 07-11-2008 I think it all depends on what their work setting is, those who are not in an office setting and constantly running around everywhere would need multiple batteries. I have no job but I have interwebs, media player, email etc etc on my phone, and if you take advantage of all the functions regularly throughout the day, it drains the shit outta my battery. I assume the same holds true for the iPhone, and more so for those traveling around all the time using the phone for business reasons and not just cause they are bored like me. Apoc Wrote:I think it's likely to be a great personal phone if you don't mind the soft keyboard but it ain't a business phone... yet. Agreed, my Fiancee has a Blackberry, i consider that a business phone cause alot of companies have databases compatible for Blackberrys so they can access client files etc. Her Company switched to this stuff a year ago or so. - WRXtranceformed - 07-11-2008 I used to regularly burn through the battery in my old Nextel when I was in construction. I'm sure I'll have a cancerous hole in my brain within the next few years
- Ginger0 - 07-11-2008 .RJ Wrote:Ginger Wrote:I needed a replacement battery on the jersey turnpike last weekend It was full when I left, and I didn't even have the phone on while I was in Canada. International calls, I imagine, are not cheap...and I had no desire to find out how not cheap, not cheap is. I imagine that the GPS locating feature that my dad activated to figure out where I was when I broke down used a ton of current... between the two locations done, the battery life meter went from 3 to 1. It didn't actually die, or give me the "low batt" beep notice, but I was getting worried. I was wishing that I had an inverter with me so that I could plug in. Should I decide to ride any sort of distance again, I'll invest in a smaller one than I've got... and carry my extra-capacity cell battery. - JackoliciousLegs - 07-11-2008 Evan Wrote:http://www.forbes.com/technology/2008/06/20/iphone-disappointment-features-tech-wireless08-cx_bc_0620iphone.html?feed=rss_popstories That's clarendon... and actually... i'm not buying an iPhone. I've sold all of my worldly possessions (except my computer) and I'm just buying a nice bike. I just can't justify 2k over 2 years for a cell phone. It's not worth it to me.
- Ginger0 - 07-11-2008 Are you freaking kidding me? Jesus, guys, it's a phone. I can't believe people are actually going through that... - .RJ - 07-11-2008 JackoliciousLegs Wrote:That's clarendon... The plans for an iphone are cheaper than what I was just quoted for the same plan at Verizon. Or do you just want no phone at all? - JackoliciousLegs - 07-11-2008 I'm happy paying my $45/mo with my "crappy" phone that can do stuff like record video, take decent pictures, still send email and browse the web, and use maps. I just realized that it's not worth the extra $500/year cost of the iPhone to have GPS and snazzy packaging. I'm not that balla. It is a nice phone though. - Mike - 07-11-2008 coworker has been sitting outside clarendon store since 630am. he said he's got 5 people in front of him before he gets in the store and it hasn't been moving at all... serious, serious POS issues going down. i could see MAYBE waiting that long if this was the first iPhone, but it's not, and most of the folks waiting in line already have the 1st gen... fucking tards. |
