All work and no play makes Evan a dull boy.

I'm big on actually taking vacation. I can always earn more money but time away from work... that's priceless. A guy I work with took the last 3 weeks of the year off to sit at home. I always use mine to go places but 3 weeks of nothing must be pretty awesome.

(We got Dec 24 off this year too.)

I guess Ive just never hated my job enough to want to constantly get away from it.

Anne loves to travel so Ill probably be burning more now than I used to.

you need to find the photo album of the bangin' hot one

i did... she aint so bang'n hot without some makeup! no wonder this woman comes in at 11am every day... it must take her 4 hours to "put on her face."

- Evan - 12-28-2007

They call it "work" for a reason. Tongue

It's not about hating your job, it's about relaxing and/or wanting to experience what the world has to offer... at least that's what vacation is for me.

hah I have the same debate with anne all the time.

just send me the damn postcard, i dont need to travel half way around the globe to see a rock sticking out of the water.

all-inclusive resorts in the carribean with beach-side waiters? now thats a different story.

Dude that girl is heinous!

- Apoc - 12-28-2007

Some people here notwithstanding... I think quite a few people in America need to travel the world to reset their expectations/assumptions about life. I know India tweaked my world view a bit.

Kaan, I want my 60 seconds back!

travelling is great as a hobby if that is what you enjoy and what you are into, but it pisses me off when people act superior because they travel. Most americans would be much better off knowing more about this country.

I knew a few rich girls in college who were already on their 2nd and 3rd passports and they were completely clueless about the state of the world or other cultures.

Perhaps I should qualify my statement by saying that people could stand to travel "outside the box." Going to 5 star resorts everywhere there's a beach wasn't exactly what I had in mind.

I think traveling can open people's eyes to the goods and bads of America. If they can find the motivation to better understand more about this country without traveling, great... I've just found that people most often realize how little they know about where they live after seeing how others do it.

Since this is a good BS thread, thought I'd post it up here.

Finally made it down to NC, for good!! Staying with my friends right now, haven't unpacked all of my clothes yet. It's weird getting settled into a new place and it will be weird getting used to living with another family for the time being... but Scooter and Heather are such good friends of mine and have been SUPER welcoming so it will be an easy adjustment.

I went to get my NC driver's license today because I need it in order to be a licensed NC insurance sales agent and wow... what a pain in the dick. From what everyone has said, once you actually GET your license the NC DMV process is always very smooth and easy in the future, but to get it you need like a billion documents and have to go through a long process. I got to the DMV this morning and saw there was a 4 hour line and just left. I'm glad I did too, I didn't have a document that showed my SSN on it.

Going to go house shopping this weekend to get a feel for what's changed since I bought my other one. My friend's friend is selling his townhouse really close by for a really good price so we're going to go peep it tonight.

I also found out that the new company pays on a biweekly basis, which will be a nice change. My last paychecks came monthly, which took a lot of getting used to and budgeting. Gonna go pour a Miller out of the kegerator, catch you guys later!!

I'm sorry, Lee, what? I had no idea you were moving. I had thought you just had bought your own, newly constructed place? Did I miss something big?
